Good course
The course was overall good, however I would not play this course unless I purchase a tee time through Golf Now. I don't think it's worth the Regular Price tee times.
Challenging but fair
I enjoy playing here. Fairly open but challenging enough
Woodbine Course Fun COurse
I have golfed here many times. I always enjoy myself here.
Good time. Cool dog legs.
The course has a good layout and pace of play was decent. The group in front had no problem letting us play through and the conditions were good after this past winter. The bunkers could use some maintenance. I haven't had the chance to try the restaurant but seems fine.
Great Value
Booked on GN. Great value, course was wide open and in good condition. Staff was friendly, especially Rick the starter.
Confidence builder
Woodbine is a short par 70 course with what I call "course with sneaky greens", but at the end of round if your putter is working your final score will be pleasantly surprised.
poor condition
Owners apparentley not spending money to repair course. Many sandtraps just piles of rubble and stones. No difference between fairway and rough. fairways gouged out in many places.
Course partially opened
I've played Woodbine a couple times over the years,, it's always well groomed and the staff exceptionally friendly. However, this time the course was not prepared. Check-in is at the bar. No hole markers on tee box, no tee box markers, no ball washers.
I realize the course is closing at end of year, but, If they are charging rates they should deliver a real product.
Great course for good value
This course is a great value course. I play this course many times after work to get a quick round in. This course offers challenges for all skill levels
Cold weather golf
We played during the winter season so there was hardly no one out there. The course is a little quirky in spots in regards to lay out and there we no signs for what hole you were on until you hit the flagstick on the green. Thankfully staff gave us a description of the tricks to navigate which was very helpful. Course was in good condition. The green were as hard as concrete which made it tough to stop the ball. T boxes were all hard so I gave up trying to put a tee in the ground and practiced hitting my 3 wood off the deck. It was fun. Best of all on hole 4 I was saved a ball dropping in the water as my ball bounced 30 feet of the frozen pond and dropped on the fringe.
Nice course
We played Woodbine twice this year (August and October). Both times the course was great. I keep telling my buddy that Woodbine is as good of course as Water's Edge (but not as challenging). You will never lose a ball here because of course maintenance. They really take good care of things.
Isn't worth it at all....
Super slow play over 5 hours, needs a lot a work, bunkers are a joke...! Group behind us called the clubhouse to get a ranger to come out and speed play. Well the ranger knew the slow playing group, ie regulars that were drunk, so the ranger didn't do a thing. In fact they started to play slower on purpose. The one guy even waited for us to catch up to them so he could show us the bottle Jack Daniels he was drinking from.
Without a doubt the worst round of golf my friends and I played this year. We will never go back and spread the word to others to go play elsewhere.
Nice course, except one thing
Giant coyote feces in front of the first green, at least I hope it was coyote
I highly recommend Woodbine to all my golf buddies!
I had 5 birdies and I almost had an eagle! Great place to blow up some stress!
slow but well worth the price!
It was a holiday and perfect weather so slow play was to be expected. It was easy to deal with the delays since we got the day at such am amazing price.
Five- somes on Sunday afternoon?
My wife and I played on Labor Day, we had a 12:37PM tee time.........we waited, and waited.....finally at 1:05 they called us. We saw 3 groups of 5 go ahead of us, and of course the pace of play was HORRENDOUSLY slow. We played with another 2 some for the front nine ( finished 2 hours and 45 minutes later), after they left we knew we were in trouble. After the 13th hole, we decided to bag it...........totally exhausted from waiting for every single shot. I had heard good things about Woodbine, but my experience was not good at all.
short and sweet
I enjoyed the course and the group of golfer I was paired with. the course was short and not that difficult, however the greens was well kept.
Pleasantly surprised
Very dry August, fairways were still in good shape. Restaurant is awesome. Not the hardest course, an average golfer can score well. Mature trees and a decent amount of sand to deal with, greens are average slope.
