good price and good course
compare to price it is good course and nice green. I recommendation to people.
Great Course Hole 16 STILL under repair
I love Randall Oaks. It is almost always in great shape and a really fun test. This day however the elements conspired against us as their was hail, rain and about a 30MPH wind that slowed things down to more than a 6 hour round. Couple that with the fact that we have had a very late spring and hole no 16 is STILL under repair and I can only rate this round as fair. I will go back but it will not be till after 16 is finished and the course in better shape!!
Good course
It's a great course when it's not under construction
Great Course Overall
I played three times at Randall Oaks and I enjoyed it very much. The condition is great, except 16th hole that is under construction. Around 16th hole is a little bit messy and confusing, it's just a temporary thing - I hope. Other than that, it's a great overall golf course. Its cart is great too, and the GPS works accurately. I would recommend this to everyone.
Agree with 4.2 star average...course in awesome shape
Slow play (no ranger) on back nine caused us to skip 15th and 16th holes. Course including the sand traps is in excellent shape. No green aeration and greens were a decent speed and very fair....when greens are cut short at this place some pin positions are just stupid to impossible. Had a nice afternoon but these two foursomes completely held up the course for everyone on a chilly Sunday afternoon should definitely not be allowed to play at this course again. They were on a 5.5 hour plus pace easy....and had three plus empty holes in front of them. We would have been the 5th group on the 15th hole had we decided to play it and saved well over an hour of our day only playing 16.....
Randall Oaks is a very nice fun track and it was a surprise and a joy to finally play out of some sand traps that were maintained well.
A nice course in great condition.
A wide variety of different holes with some interesting challenges. Relatively open course with challenging greens. I would recommend the course to anyone.
Great greens!
Though a short course, definitely has some challenging holes. Fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were superb. Probably the second best greens I've putted on this year. Only Cascata in LasVegas were better and the cost there was fifteen times more. One thing I noticed though, the ball did not break as much as it looked. Don't know why. The rough seemed a bit too high and snarly. Otherwise a very decent course and one I would definitely recommend. The price was great too.
Very enjoyable round played yesterday afternoon.
Nice layout with plenty of challenges. Good risk reward when hitting over fairway bunkers. Plenty of water and greens in good condition. Nice day!
This course is well maintained and the staff is super friendly.
We enjoyed everything about the course. The price was right and the pace of play was good. The ranger made an effort to keep us informed about what was going on when the course backed up a little. The food is good as are all of the facilities.
much better than the average golf course
great fairways and greens in good condition with some ball marks due to the usual inconsiderate golfers. the course is challenging with some difficult holes. There is also a great practice area with a sand trap, huge putting green, and separate chipping green. In addition, there is another two putting greens next to the first tee. There is also a practice course for $6 - three or four par 3's. This is a top notch golf course.
We played on the hottest day of the year yet enjoyed it in no small part due to a great breeze.
The course was in great shape. We never saw a group ahead or behind us. The pace allowed our threesome to finish in 3 1/2 hours.
One of my favorites (top 3-4)
This is one of the few places that I'll play even if I have to pay close to the regular price. It is always in excellent shape. The greens are super fast and always in near perfect shape. I always recommend this course to other fellow golfers.
Plenty of elevation changes make otherwise somewhat too short course interesting.
Priced with courses typically 500+ yards longer. Interesting elevation changes countered by too many blind shots. Allows recovery from almost anywhere. Back nine a little too open and plays much (a little too much) easier.
For the same money I'll take Highland Woods.
Always enjoy this course!
Randall is a great track with many different golf shots and decisions to make. I always enjoy the staff and the course!
good challenging layout
very well manicured course, greens were great, front nine is the nicer of the 2 sides w/elevation changes and views
This course is slightly below other Park District courses I've played.
The fairways and greens were hard with several greens having burnout. If this was late in a hot summer, it would be understandable. But we've had a cool damp spring.
Ground Under Repair
Unfortunately the 16th hole was under repair and unplayable so I was told to replay 1. I say unfortunately because right after my tee time was a league that ended up causing a back up when we went to replay 1. I was told I could play the "Acorn Course" (which is their par 3 course) as an alternative. Ended up waiting it out to replay 1. Overall the course was in great shape and a great course for the resident price!
Currently working on the course
Springtime aeration going on this week. Front nine was closed. Got a call from the course letting us know - 1hr before tee time. They apologized saying they had neglected to notify GolfNow. We elected to play the back twice. Unfortunately, 16 was also closed for fairway repairs. GolfNow folks were also apologetic and refunded 1/2 the fee. In the end, it was nice to get out and hit a few balls, minor mistakes by course staff, everyone was accommodating. I probably wouldn't be as laid back about it if it was later in the season.
Price is high,
Course is very good condition, High Handicaps will find it it hard to enjoy. It has lots of putting ang chipping areas. Driving range is poor compared to others. Pro shop is Nike and like most pro shops high in price. Its a course that you would take pride in if this was your home course.
