Plays Well
I have not been to Randall Oaks in years but it's always been a nice track. While I prefer links courses, I still enjoy it here. Usually it's pricey but we found a good deal which was great.
Great for any skill level
Course was well kept and the greens run true.. Staff was friendly , a little pricey but for how nice the course was its understandable .. Overall a great place to play
Nice golf course
Course was in good shape. I was not advised the greens were aerated, but with the holes filled with sand they played good.
Waiting for every shot
There was a reason why this was the first time I played this course, mainly due to the pace in my previous visits last year. It is a shame, because I personally like this course and it is always kept in great shape. The problem is that they either set tee times too close to each other, or they do not have rangers out on the course to monitor and keep a good pace. We did not see a ranger on the course during the time we played and we had to wait on every hole for our tee shot and our approach to the green. This will definitely be my last time at this course!
Good course
We'll manicured and everything was well maintained. Fair greens which rolled nicely. Only complaint is the pace of play was slow. We were a foursome keeping up with two twosomes. Ranger never said a word to them but since it was such a nice day, how could you complain too much. I would recommend this course if you can get a deal under $40. The price they charge is a little steep but for under forty bucks it's A fair deal.
Great Course
Well kept course. In perfect condition. Very friendly and helpful staff both in clubhouse and on course. Only problem is that the course isn't marked well in regards to where the next tee box is.
Nice Course
Great shape, nice greens, pace was very fast. Would recommend it.
Good course excellent practice areas
The course was inot solid shape. I played with two members that were friendly and helpful, being I hadn't played the course ever.
Randall Oaks
The elevation changes made this a fun round. Greens are quick and well maintained. Practice facility is top notch. Unfortunately had a quick group behind us a slow group 2 holes ahead so there was a lot of idle time. Ranger was out and pushed them along.
Great course
This course is in excellent shape. I would surely play this course again.
best condition
This course and greens in October were In much better shape than most of the higher priced so called better courses that I have played all year.
For the amount of play they get and the price The greens keeper should get a medal
Raaannnddddyyyy
Tee boxes, fairways, greens were all in excellent shape. The greens really stood out, best I've played in over a month; no aeration. The course is a mix of links/woods/parkland, with a multitude of holes having water in play. The course has some risk/reward holes and will test you on your first round. It's only 6500 from the tips but it seems a lot longer. I know its cold, but the rates are low as well. Bundle up playa!
MJHOPPER
Always in great shape great classic layout. This is a fun challenging course, the only complaint is that it is a little on the pricey side for being a municipal course. One other thing the range ball stink. It is a nice range and having a better ball would be nice.
Love this course
The value of the course is great if you can find deals for it. I will say that pin placements on the weekend can be ridiculous at times. Greens are always in great condition. Love this course!
First Time
The greens had a lot of speed which I love. Some very unique holes. Overall a decent course, green slope is its best defense.
US OPEN THICK ROUGH
This was a nice course but could have few things to make it nicer. The rough was EXTREMELY high when we played. It was quite annoying. You could not see your ball until you drove right up to it. It slowed the pace of play and really was not fair. I feel sorry for the mid to high handicappers. They could not advance the ball out of it and it took them forever to find their balls.
The fairways and tee boxes were top notch and the greens for the most part were also very nice. Thats why I don't understand why they neglect taking care of the rough. Greens have alot of slope to them and can be difficult depending on pin locations. The greens are fast compared to other municipal coarses. There were a few tricked up holes that seemed like they ran out of space and try to fit them in.
The front nine is prettier than the back. Electric carts with gps were a nice touch for a muni course. Randall Oaks has a nice website and you can see and check out the course detail and pictures if you never played there.
I may try playing here again, but if the rough is half a foot thick again, I won't be coming back.
Great Municipal Course
Based on reviews I decided to play Randall Oaks despite it being further out than usual, plus we needed to play first thing in the morning. It did not disappoint. The greens were truly exceptional. They were smooth and rolled as well as some of the top courses in the country (I've played several). Most recently I played the TPC River Bend course north of Cincinnati and it was as good or better. Course layout was challenging and not too gimicky. Very good GPS system provided great guidance and helps you decide how to best play a hole/shot.
In terrific shape, great layout
Course was in excellent shape. We were lead group and played in about 3.5 hours. Greens are quite smooth right now. Layout has been redone over past several years and I think they have it right. Very unique holes overall. I think this is great value for the money. Excellent practice area if you want to show up early with separate green for sand trap practice and another for chipping, a third for putting.

Fairways of carpet
As always, the course was in pristine condition. The fairways were like smooth carpet and the greens in excellent condition, While not a difficult course, some of the rolling greens will keep you on your toes. Water comes into play on many of the holes and can force a smart play shot. Overall, a pleasurable experience.
Great Course
Course is in fantastic shape. All the work they've done on the practice range and layout changes has been worth it. Very nice!
