Nice Course could use a little TLC
Can tell the budget cuts are affecting this course over the past five to six years. Today was great weather and played extremely slow but after we called ranger they straightened it out and after about 5 very slow holes we got back in the groove and played well thru the next 13 holes. Course was pretty rough but greens weren't too bad. Overall this course layout is excellent and I'll always go back .
Beautiful parkland course
A bit further out in the exburbs but worth the drive. Great layout in a roomy, wooded setting with a nice variety of hole designs. Some elevation changes as well, which keeps things even more interesting. There were some brown patches in some of the fairways, but it's been pretty dry lately. Good conditions overall. Pace of play was slow because it was a perfect weekend day, but also because of golfers lacking etiquette. Golfers in my group hit multiple tee shots on just about every hole and even on approach shots. And yet, we weren't pressed from behind, so the whole course was on a slow pace.
Best Public course Period!
Big Bang for little bucks.
My favorite public course.
Great layout. Excellent greens
Could have been great…Surprise AERATED GREENS!
We started off the Back (which was beautiful) and we played at a slightly slow pace which was a little frustrating for some in my group as it also meant that the group behind us was always pushing as well. My serious issue with Heritage Bluffs is that when we got to the front and hit up onto the green on hole one - Surprise! the greens had been AERATED! And of course the entire front nine was the same. It made putting the back(front) nine impossible. At the very least I would expect the club house to tell us that half the course was not putt-able! and if that is the case I should have been charged the discounted early bird rate. One small note as it may matter more to some - Yes, these are strange times, and there are some basics that in Aug. of 2020 everyone should have a grip on. The #1 of those basics is that if you are inside you wear a mask. The club house did have a sign on the door saying a mask was required. But, when I walked in there were three players hanging out, chatting with the staff without masks, and both the people behind the counter had no mask. Well, OK - I had mine on, I paid my $59 and got out.
Rough shape
Played here for years I think the course looks pretty beat up Fairways and greens both. Priced for weekend prime time went way up this year as well as snack bar and beverage prices
Will continue to play here just not on a regular basis
No Ranger in Sight
Front nine pace of play was good, and we made the turn in just under 2 hours. Back nine took 3 hours with 2-3 foursomes backed up on most tee boxes. It was brutal... and pricey at $79. We will forego this place in the future.
Awesome playing hard and fast
Heritage was in excellent condition...with all the dry weather the ball is really running out.....teed off shortly after 2pm on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon and we pretty much had the course to ourselves....finished about 3 hours so it was wonderful to get a flow going and just swing away. Friendly folks in the clubhouse...and the starters are most pleasant too. Good speed on the greens....it could of been easily over the top too fast....but grounds crew has it right. Very good value and a well designed fun to play golf course. Has grass range and a serviceable clubhouse. Highly recommended....it's worth fighting the construction/traffic on I55 to get there. Play it!
Insane Value and Great Course
The best value around Chicagoland if you are willing to drive for it. We were stunned by how nice this course was for the money we paid. It is challenging, well maintained, and had a great staff overlooking the pace and tee times.
Great course!
I couldn’t believe the value of this golf course! When I saw it was $11 to walk before 7:30am I had to call to confirm that it was correct. The course was in great condition and the layout was awesome. Some holes you could get away with not being in position, but others you needed to be accurate off the tee. However, one thing that could be improved was cutting the grass for the tips like the other tee boxes and putting out the tees for them. Other than that, this was a great course and I will definitely be playing it again!
Challenging and Quick
We had an excellent weather, morning round, that was under 4 hours. The course played long (from black) and pretty narrow fairways made it quite challenging. If you couldn't hit your ball straight you struggled mightily. There is not a lot of water and intimidating traps but I highly recommend playing if you want to challenge your golf game.
