Prairie Landing
About
Prairie Landing Golf Club has received acclaim ever since first opening in 1995, including a four-and-a-half-star rating from Golf Digest. This West Chicago course will make you feel as though you've been transported to a seaside links course in Ireland. The prairie-style layout closely follows the tradition of classic links golf courses. Robert Trent Jones II designed the course, fully utilizing the rolling terrain. He incorporated large, undulating greens and rolling bent grass fairways. Vast swaths of native grasses stretch along the fairways and strategically placed bunkers frame the greens. There is also contoured mounding to contend with. The golf course finishes with a memorable par 5 that features fairway bunkers on the left followed by a carry over a lake to a well protected, high bowled green. Prairie Landing also boasts a practice facility that includes a driving range with target greens, four practice holes, and a nine-hole chipping and short-game area.

Top 5 IL Public course
Every hole is a fun and different experience. Much different from the average IL neighborhood course. A serious gem in Chicago’s suburbs!
Prairie Landing Review
Excellent course, got the best of me again. No fault of the course, in Excellent condition. Fair but, challenging. Strongly recommend course.
Beautiful, Challenging Links-Style Course
Prairie Landing is a beautiful, well- conditioned course, offering a distinct links feel and challenging shot-making opportunities. The day I played it was blowing a gale, adding to the links-type setting. The course is in fantastic shape, the greens rolling perfectly, the rough fairly thick and consistent, the overall setup fair and again, challenging. The facilities and staff are great too; this would be a great course for an outing with friends. Prairie Landing would be a great addition to any golfers regular rotation..
Always a pleasure
This course is very fair but tough at the same time. Great conditions all around. Must play every year if not a few times.
Best golf club in the west suburbs
Picked up a 10:40am hot deal a day ahead of time for about half the normal rate. Once I arrived, the starter was super helpful in arranging players and adjusting tee times. Got me out on the back 9 to start where I practically had the entire course to myself, and re-fit me in on the front with ease.
The practice area is world class, and was also available for use with the round:
