Prairie Landing
About
Prairie Landing Golf Club has received acclaim ever since first opening in 1995, including a four-and-a-half-star rating from Golf Digest. This West Chicago course will make you feel as though you've been transported to a seaside links course in Ireland. The prairie-style layout closely follows the tradition of classic links golf courses. Robert Trent Jones II designed the course, fully utilizing the rolling terrain. He incorporated large, undulating greens and rolling bent grass fairways. Vast swaths of native grasses stretch along the fairways and strategically placed bunkers frame the greens. There is also contoured mounding to contend with. The golf course finishes with a memorable par 5 that features fairway bunkers on the left followed by a carry over a lake to a well protected, high bowled green. Prairie Landing also boasts a practice facility that includes a driving range with target greens, four practice holes, and a nine-hole chipping and short-game area.

The course was immaculate. The carts had a real good gps system. Very nice staff and a well run golf course!
Fun course
The course is challenging for any player and a lot of fun.
Condition & course laying out
Links course make thinks how to hit from different ray. I enjoyed playing charenge course like prairie landing.
Windy and Greens Aeriated
The course is beautiful and we have had great fun overall. We were playing with very windy and did not expect that the greens are aeriated. Other than this, we enjoyed the course as always.
nice layout friendly staff
late year round greens were rough - just aerated would love to come back in better conditions.
TOO MANY aeration holes
It was a windy day (20-24mph). There is no shelter from the wind. The course overall is great except for the putting greens. There were TOO MANY aeration holes on the putting surface making it bumpy and sandy. For the cost of the course I would expect better greens. Joe Louis Gold Course (Forest Preserve Golf) had better putting greens.
Awesome
As this was my first time playing this course I really didn't know what to expect but the minute I stepped out back I knew this was going to be one of my top three courses that I've played with in Illinois and Wisconsin what a beautiful course I'd recommend this course. Fairways sand traps greens we're in so good a shape can't wait to get back there before the winter.
A must play
If I could Give this course more than five stars I absolutely would I've played a lot of golf courses in Illinois and Wisconsin and this is definitely one of my top three. first time here I shot at 83 beautiful layout Fairways were pristine the greens were beautiful.
Great course
My positive ratings are based on a previous play at this course. September 1, 2020 round was halted on hole #1 by course management due to thunder storms and rain.
The individual managing the pro shop was very rude and unaccommodating! Upon arrival, he indicated I was not booked to play at this course and that GolfNow had failed to book my tee time. He was short and abrasive and told me I had to go and call GolfNow. I went outside and access my reservation via my mobile device, went back in with confirmation number and he still said he didn't know what happened and that I was not booked at this course. After a few exchanges, he reluctantly signed me in.
The Starter (Bert) was polar opposite. Very friendly, apologetic for confusion and provided great details about the course! The Starter (Bert) met us on hole #1 and informed us that play was being halted due to weather. He said I had the option to wait at clubhouse or get a Raincheck.
That sparked another bad experience with the person managing the Pro Shop! He told me in short and no uncertain tone that Golfnow was responsible for my raincheck and that there was nothing he could do. He commented on not knowing what I paid and that booking and rainchecks were not the course responsibility! A RAINCHECK IS SIMPLY PROOF TO ALLOW PLAY ROUND AT A LATER DATE DUE TO POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS!!
I have experience salty Pro Shop managers at other golf courses in the past, but none like this one!
The unfortunate thing is that my only time playing the course back in July was a great all around experience. I join two very cordial golfers and exchanged phone numbers for future play.
The person managing the Pro Shop made a very bad impression on the golf course and has compromised my desire to play there again! If that was his intention, mission accomplished!!!
Fantastic course too bad it’s a bit far from city
Well worth it! Must check out! Fun holes, better lay out then most links courses. Used all clubs in my bag! Hope you get out there and try it, you won’t regret your decision.
Prairie Landing
Pace of play was excellent. We were the third group out and played in under 3 hours. My biggest complaint was the range was closed for maintenance . How do you close the range on a Friday morning ? I dislike playing without a proper warm up. I was paired with a couple of locals who were very enjoyable playing partners.
Prairie Landing
Pace of play was great. Course was in good shape. My only complaint was the range was closed. I don't like playing with no warm up
