One of my Favorites
Course is in great shape tee to pin!
Can’t wait to go again
I play this course several times a year. Somewhat challenging, but nice course. Highly recommended.
Great Public Course
I often play courses in Southern Illinois and this course is my favorite. Somewhat challenging with good greens that hold the ball. Pace of play is always good and the locals are always helpful with hints on how to play the course. Always humid though.
Great fairways
Course is in great shape, especially the fairways. Good course layout definitely need to hit them straight.

Hickory is as good as it gets. Great clubhouse personnel & pro. Play it & see for yourself.
Hickory Ridge
Everything was as good as one could ask for, ieccepy the 94 degree temperature.
When we arrived at the course we were told that the front 9 is closed for green aeration. Golf Now made no mention of the closing of the front nine holes at the course. Was dissaointed that I drove almost 5 ours and could only play the back 9.
Very nice course
Very nice but challenging course. Front 9 is definitely easier than the back. The course was in great shape and the staff very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back and recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenge.
My favorite course in Southern Illinois
Despite the fact that I have not played that much this year, it is still fair to call Hickory my "home" course. One of the best layouts in the area. Plenty of elevation change, with few truly level lies. Always challenging. Hands down the best fairways of any local course. The zoisia grass makes it like hitting off a mat. Greens are good, but had been recently aerated. The only legitimate complaint I think anyone could have is the condition of some of the bunkers. They have been slowly rebuilding them over the past several years, but it is a time consuming and expensive process. The reconstructed ones are great.
The fall colors are really starting to pop, and it was a great day for golf. The super cheap hot deal was icing on the cake.
Tricky Layout
The course itself was good. There are a few holes that are very tricky and either having course knowledge, or playing with someone who does is almost a must have. Some blind shots make it difficult to know where your landing area should be.
Challenger
This course was a challenge. I lost a few balls in the woods and water. The poison ivy sucks, so I didn't venture into the woods to far.
Great layout
Hickory is always in great shape. Manicured very well. People working in the pro shop are as good as it gets nothing but positives from me.
No problems
Being the first time I've play this course this year and after all the rain and bad weather, I couldn't of asked for a better place to play. Management has done an excellent job at keeping the course in playable condition.
Hickory Ridge is always great. The pro & those who work there are very congenial. It’s one of my favorite places to play. I’d recommend it to anyone.
