Just like old times
I spent many a happy day playing Ingersoll In the day. Have not played for a number of years BUT that changed today. What a difference!! Clubhouse is great, well groomed course, just so many happy memories. Very friendly and welcoming staff—will be playing often. Kudos to the Rockford Park District!!!!
fun with friends
loved the course some holes were deceiving weather was awesome. layout was nice and would be a great course to walk.
Fun shorter course that always have a good time playing
Great little course
This little gem is in great shape this year even with all the rain we’ve had. Nice job grounds crew!
Comparision
Played in the Ballard Tournament with many golfers from out of town.Day (1) one at Ingersol Golf Coarse. Even though there was excessive rain a day ealier coarse was in prestine condition from the club house to any green the best I've ever seen it.
Unlike day (2) two at Elliott Golf Coarse, flowering clover on tee boxes, fairway and the rough.Should have at least mowed tee boxes and greens.
Knowing a tournament with over 100 golfers and the media showing up alot could be learned by the approach taken by Ingersol Golf Coarse.
Grade:
Ingersol (5) five stars
Elliott (2) two stars barely
Ingersol is back!!!!
Played Ingersol Saturday and boy were we surprised. We had two 4somes and all agreed the course has never looked better. Greens were fast and true. Pace of play was good. We played 18 holes in less than 4 hours. Friendly staff made for an overall great experience
Great shape
The course and greens are on great shape, it looks like they are changing the shape of the fairways and grooming the tee boxes by the markings on the ground. The rough is still short (which is good for me I seem to be in it a lot) but as it grows the fairways will be better defined. It is a shame that some of the old trees had to come down, but it is still one of the best deals around.
DOUBLED UP
Played consecutive days. Great "hot deal' for early season.
Ingersol Golf Course still a great Course !
Played 18 holes and a cart for $10 on Columbus Day. Rockford Illinois has always been know for great golf courses. The Rockford Park District and Director iof Golf Duncan Gedes continue to a wonderful job.
Just because a golf rate on Golf Now is inexpensive does not mean it’s a bad course. This was a great experience.

Byron Illinois.
Nice Course
This is a nice course that we would play again. The front nine is not extremely interesting, with a lot of straight shots. The par 3 holes are long and challenging. The back nine provides more interest, but it is shorter. The fairways were dry, which is not unusual for this time of year in Illinois. Overall, the course was well maintained. The pace of play was reasonable for a weekend, which is very important in my eyes. A few spots on this course are congested, and I recommend keeping your wits about you for errant shots. The folks we encountered while playing and in the clubhouse were very pleasant. We will be back.
Awesome course
Staff was super friendly and course was in great shape.
Nice
This course is nice. On the shorter side and less challenging than other courses I've played around Rockford. Great for a beginner or just some practice.
Nice day
tee time 9:48 arrived around 9:30 the man at the desk was very profesonal and pleasant , the course was well groomed and we had an enjoyable day.l!
Lovely parkland course
This was what I considered my "home course" growing up in Rockford. The Rockford Park District always tried to encourage youngsters to get into golf. Ingersoll is always a delight to play on our many return visits from the UK over the years. The staff and starters are always really welcoming. With fairways being tree lined, it is important to hit the ball straight. That is the main challenge of the course. The back nine is shorter, but also has its challenges, in addition to the trees, with out-of-bounds to the left of 10, 11 and 12 and 14, 16, 17 and 18. The presentation and maintenance of the course by the greens staff is always excellent. Some natural areas have been left for wildflowers and nature. The Fall is a delightful time of year to play with wonderful maples and other colourful leaves. We planted a memorial maple for my dad near the clubhouse. Looking out over the course is always great at all times of year.
Ingersoll Outing
Great Deal for a fun and challenging course!
