Lick Creek is a great course to play!
We had a great day of golf on a cloudy 65° day. Course was well kept and we enjoyed the whole day, despite our poor performance. Guy at the clubhouse was ok, he hardly smiled and barely spoke, but got us everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
Who knew
Really nice course, and the condition was excellent. Carts are a bit slow and the guy behind the desk didn't like to be bothered to actually do his job, but the course was fantastic.
Great Golf
The greens were fast and true. The course was in good condition but a few of the bunkers needed some work. Great golf and great value!
very nice and great value
I had a great morning and didn't feel like I was being gouged for money.
Tough but fun Course from the tips
It was a pretty neat course. Some great views amd holes. I would however recommend playing from the white tees for your first time on the course before you learned. Playing from the blue tees was a little hard on my friend and I when we are between six and eight handicap. It was however enjoyable to play.I would however recommend playing from the white tees for your first time on the course before you learned. It was still a lot of fun.
Awesome Course
Had a fun time. Carts are slow. Greens were well maintained.
Lick Creek
Very challenging course for any level of golfer. Quite a good value for this quality of. Course.

as always the greens and bunkers were in great shape.#6 got me again.bring your A+ t ball on that one.I had a snowman.Oh,and the egg, bacon and cheese on wheat at the turn is the best.phone it in on 9 tee and its ready when u make the turn.SWEET!!!
challenging course
Very challenging course. Several narrow fairways and blind shots. Lots of fun.
Lick is great value for money
Very challenging course with different tees for varying levels of skill. Greens were a little rough. You can tell the course gets some play.
MUCH IMPROVED
PLAYED THE COURSE 8 YEARS AGO AND IT IS SO MUCH NICER NOW. IMPROVEMENTS WERE WELL WORTH IT. GREENS IN EXCELLANT SHAPE.
Great Park District Course in Central IL
Great course for the price. Very challenging, and good condition for how much play this course gets. I would vote it's the best park district course in Central IL.
Good course, bad staff
This was my third time golfing at Lick Creek. The course has always been in decent-good condition and is exciting to play. The staff (especially the ones behind the counter) have been very unfriendly each time. They seem to have no interest in providing any type of customer service other than collecting your money. I would definitely play this course more often if the staff was better.
good challenge for high handicapper
driving a premium,,otherwise you are pitching sideways big greens with lots of slope three putts not uncommon
Great course
Course is in excellent condition. Challenging holes with woodlands and elevation changes on front 9 and a few holes on the back. Back 9 is more open in places but length on holes and elevated greens makes up for the challenge. Good test for all skill levels. I had a chance to play with the Supt of Golf , Mr Steve Funk. He and his staff there do a great job, friendly, helpful, and welcoming to out of town visitors to the course. Thanks Steve !
Challenging course; harassing staff
This course is great for a challenge and a change of pace. The topography of Lick Creek is different from many of the other courses in the central IL area. Unfortunately, my group was harassed by an overbearing staff member that took it upon himself to follow my foursome around the first 9-holes and criticize our pace of play. We had a group of five women in front of us, and instead of playing like a goon and driving the ball into the women, we decided not to ride them and took our time until they were clear. This will be the last time that I will play this course due to the overbearing staff.
TOUGH COURSE
TOUGH COURSE WHICH IS MADE TOUGHER BY ALL THE WAITING YOU DO.
Grass Roots Golf
Great neighborhood muni. Fairway landing zones were a little beat up... looked like there may have been a big outing here over the weekend. The greens were smooth and deceivingly fast. Membership could do a better job of repairing their ball marks on the green. There were a number of holes were positioning off the tee was very important. If you are in the trees looking for your ball watch out for poison ivy, it was everywhere.
Great course to walk.
Overall it was a great day. When it's 72* in July in this area, you find a course and tee it up.
Lick creek
Extremely busy course with many groups of 4 players. Played by myself and due to being caught behind slower groups in front of me it took 5 hrs to play the course. Otherwise a very nice and challenging course! Bring plenty of golf balls
Challenging tee shots and greens
Overall, a very engaging course in that it makes you think on many holes. Given that on about half a dozen holes, you can't see the green from the tee box, you'll need to play this course several times before you can enjoy what the designer intended. The greens have a great deal of break and pin placement possibilities that keep each visit interesting.
