Lick Creek play
Great course giving a player all the challenges of hitting (slopes, hills up/down, water hazards), putting challenges, tee variations. Planning was very good. My partner states a "PGA course" and well worth a pro tour course.
Very Fun Course to Play
I very much enjoyed my round at this course. The layout had both easy and challenging holes. The greens and fairways were in good condition. And the pace was fantastic - finished my round in 3 hours.
Beautiful course
I've only played this course a few times but it has been very well maintained each time I've been there. The layout is setup very well. There is a lot of challenge as the fairways are tight and in many cases surrounded by woods or bordered by water. The staff is always friendly. At full price it's a bit expensive but well worth the money. My group and I look forward to playing it a few times each season.
Beautiful Course!
Beautiful course in excellent shape for early spring in Central Illinois. Weather was poor (cold and windy), but we still had fun. Greens are faster than other courses, but ran true and were in great shape! I will gladly play this course again and recommend it to others!
Tougher Course in Area
The course was in very good condition for this time of year. Not many people were playing. Played the senior tees and still tough. The staff could use some training. While not impolite, they are abrupt. The were not that busy so that is not an excuse. Kind of get the feeling that people who use GolfNow are not held in high esteem.
Great round of golf
The course was challenging, but fair....in great condition for early spring. We enjoyed our round and would play there again!
Fun with friends and golf.
The weather was fantastic and the facility was clean and orderly. Employees are friendly and professional. They offer a breakfast menu that was smelling fantastic and they offer a phone number on hole eight to order any food items to be ready at the turn. The course was challenging and can be a ball eater if not careful. Holes are marked well.
Great course and value.
The course was in great shape. It is a long compared to many other places I play. Greens are fast and the rough was deep. Not a course for a below average golfer like me but is very mice.
Good time
This course was a good time, great pace of play and would recommend to all, however I didn't like the fact that I booked as a twosome and then was made aware when I arrived that two more would be joining us,when I asked about playing at a later time during a gap in play I was told no way we are to busy..Ok no big deal, but they were not to busy..The lady behind the counter was very rude and on the turn when we came in to get a hotdog and something to drink it was like we were a burden to be helped and I heard other people complaining about the lack of work ethic from the lady behind the counter
Tricky Course
Overall this course was a good challenge for a weekend golfer like myself. Tight fairways and mature trees called for one to put thought into his game. The only downside was the condition of the greens. Poor etiquette created for some rough greens(unrepaired divots)
Worth the drive
I live over in Normal, but try to make the trip over at least once a year to play this gem. Course is in excellent shape and fun to play. Watch out for the hornets between the first green and the ninth tee.
I love Lick
Heavy morning rain prevented riding cart use. Although soggy, the course was in great shape. I look forward to the next round.
New Back Tees add a lot of yardage and difficulty
Overall course was in very good shape. Green were in good condition, rolled smooth and somewhat fast. Only issue were many bunkers still had water in them, so drainage was an issue. it had been a few years since i last played, and the new tees definitely add a lot of length on several hole. the are a few holes (like #6) and are very wonky, but the rest of the coure layout is good.
They need rangers
I have played this course over a dozen times and find it to be one of the more challenging courses in the area. The layout is excellent and course is generally well maintained. The only reason I won't be back anytime soon is lack of oversight on pace of play. I played in a twosome this week. Finished the front in about an hour and a half until we caught a slow foursome on nine. We got to the tenth tee where we encountered 2 foursomes who had yet to tee off. They were thoughtless and SLOW. Completely ruined the round. We spent the next 2 hrs and 45 minutes waiting on every shot while they chatted and fished balls out of the water. They actually waited and played the last hole as an eight some. I'm all about social golfing if you realize that others are there to move. While I realize that it isn't the courses fault that there are so many inconsiderate golfers, I feel it is their responsibility to have people out there maintaining page of play. If you have time for a 5 hour Thursday round, then this is the course for you
One the finest courses in central Illinois
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were super fast which made for delicate touch to get down in two once on the green.
Great course and in great shape
Great course and I would recommend putting it on your list to play this year. Very challenging
Great course layout
Great conditions. Good pace of play.
Lick Creek is a great course to play!
We had a great day of golf on a cloudy 65° day. Course was well kept and we enjoyed the whole day, despite our poor performance. Guy at the clubhouse was ok, he hardly smiled and barely spoke, but got us everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
Who knew
Really nice course, and the condition was excellent. Carts are a bit slow and the guy behind the desk didn't like to be bothered to actually do his job, but the course was fantastic.
