Poor overall

1208 tee time on golf now they sent us out on 4 cause front nine tounament at 130. We played four holes on front got kicked to the back nine then came back to play 123-9. Our cart also broke down mid round. Overall never going back

Very Enjoyable

They are still developing the course and making improvements, but it was a very enjoyable round. It was in good condition. Fairly short and you can play fast. I wouldn't recommend walking, there is a lot of distance between holes at times. Overall very good.

A very tight course

The course is not overly long, but it offers plenty of challenge. It you can drive straight and measure your shot you will really enjoy this course.

this course makes you use different clubs from the tee box depending on the desired distance to set up the next shot.

The course is really in great shape and the tree that used to guard the par 3 3rd. hole is gone and the par 5 15th. had the large area mowed that used to be a very large deep grass place where you more than likely would loose your ball making this a place now that you could take a chance hitting into so it is more player friendly.

Good course, but not worth $30+

nice course, i got on for half price so was worth it. but paying $32.00 a round is out of the question. could use some attention on the greens.

stonebridge weekday round

I want to start by saying ive plyed about 600 rpunds over the last 3 years, without much practice time on the range. I'm a 10 -12 handicapper whos average drive is about 280 ( long around 320) and my iron play and short game are gradually improving.

Stonebridge:

I had heard players say this course was not worth the 30 minute ride from St Louis is Collinsville. I couldnt dissagree more as I found the course as fun and challenging as any Ive played and Ive played 143 courses to date. The green while probably only 9 or 10 on the stimp rolled as true as the handful of country clubs ive played. The tees were large and flat with 4 sets of tees and the fairways and rough were lush from all of the spring rains. The bukers were average condition. I can see how some payers wouldnt be very excited about not being able to use the driver on several par 4's and at least one of the par 5's,,, but Ive never had a problem using an iron off the tee ( are you watching this years US open???) If a hole has a sharp dogleg,, its your job to manage the course and get your tee shot in the fairway even is this means using a 5 iron 4 times a round.
The one con to this course would come from someone trying to walk the course while playing, as there are several layout and flow design flaws among which require back tracking on at least 4 or 5 holes. In a cart its only 20 - 30 seconds but walking this could mean several minutes and after 4 or 5 times it would get frustrating , especially if you arent hitting the driver restricted fairways. ALL in all for a $22 twilight rate, I'l play here once or twice a month during the week, but would reserve my weekend game with the boys for something else. I hope this helps

A gem in Maryville

This is a very well maintained course and one of the best value options available on the east side. Only 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis and easy to locate; this gem is a fun ride. Play from the tips to add some length and put more of the hazards into play.

Great greens. Weird Course.

It was a decent time. Great greens with even the fringes in great condition.

THe course layout isnt my style, and there are a few holes where you have to lay up just cause its such a strange layout.

Short Course

Course was in decent shape for late May, not an overly difficult course however several holes required iron shots off the tee, short course. Overall it was a nice day and enjoyed playing at Stonebridge.

Use every club in the bag

What it lacks in length, it makes up for in challenging you to think your way around the course. This is the opposite of the typical driver, mid/high iron type layout, though there are a few of those. Better be able to hit the low irons if you want to score here.

Course is in perfect shape, especially evident around the greens where most courses are patchy.

Great value for the money.

Many blind shots; lots of elevation changes; narrow course with many large greens.

I've played golf for 50+ years and never have played a course with as many blind shots. From the tee, there are fairway directional poles....fortunately.

From the back tees, it's only 6,000 yards but the driver was not my club of choice from many of the holes. Just too narrow and/or the blind shots from the tees changed my mind.

Very large and undulating greens in general. Had several putts with breaks over 5 feet. Greens roll well.

Definitely a fun course to play.

Keeps me coming back

The course is in great shape for the year. The greens are a little firm but some of the best in the area for this time of year. Overall its a fantastic course year round. Prices are fair and the scenery is among the best. Expect to see lots of wild life on course, I always see turkeys wandering around. The lay out is very unique and challenging. Give it a try, I know I will be back.

Course was fun to play

First thought, it's an easy course, but there are a lot of blind shots and water in play. Course conditions ok, as it's early in season, but has improved overall tremendously from what it was several years ago. I would definitely go back!

Hole number 10, unforgettable view from the tee box to the green

This is a very nice course, the only thing is that we didn't see any bathrooms except for the ones at the clubhouse.

Shooters Course

I've played Stonebridge many times over the past several years and rarely found it in bad condition...of course depending on season. Some of my golf buds don't like it because its a tight play were errand tee shots could easily turn birdies and pars to double bogeys or bogeys. I've heard it said that its an 18 hole course squeezed into a 16 hole terrain. You'll find only 125 yd. markers instead of 150 and some will play like 150. Lots of up and downs in course design creating destortions in distances with several blind tee shots, making for careful club selections for which you'll use most all in your bag. Greens usually role fast and aren't very large. Friendly staff and $2 shots if you desire mixed drinks over beer.
