Off the Beaten Path, but Excellent Value
Pinecrest is a fine course in excellent condition for this early in the year. The fairways and greens were a little soft as expected, but the current condition bodes well for the Summer. I highly recommend making the time to check this course out.
Challenging and fair
I have been playing Pinecrest since the late 1970s early 80s,always well manicured, and in great shape. Look forward to next season to play it again.
"Dennis" the Golf Professional extremely unprofessional
Got a 1:58 Tee time and arrived 15 minutes early. He would not let me check in because he said he would only give out carts 10 minutes before actual tee-time. Then I met someone on the putting green who has 2:18 tee-time and got their carts....hmmm...why the double standard. Very unhappy customer because of Dennis' unprofessional handling of customers!
pinecrest golf course
The course is in great condition they keep it very well maintained, however the only down side is they don't have a GPS system on the golf carts. This was also the only time I've played the course and there were marshals driving around and a starter calling peoples names to start.
Emerald Ash Borer, The 15th Club
6600 from the tips and 6100 from the next set forward won't make any golf shiver in their shoes. This is target golf though. Pinecrest does a nice job of keeping the rough down so if you spray it off the tee you can find your ball. The emerald ash borer must have been a golfer in a former life because it felt like Pinecrest lost about 6 ash trees per hole.
The greens are a little fuzzy and don’t roll like the practice green so that little game of deception can cost you a shot or two until you get it figured out. If you are a long hitter, there are a handful of par fours where you can, "grip it and rip it!" I believe #11 is their signature hole. The 200 yard (tips) par three plays like an island green with the only safe miss being long and left.
Pinecrest is a good deal and a once a year course for me. If I lived closer, I would probably play it more to help keep my handicap down.
Great course for the price
A fun , fair course for the average golfer. Played in 4 hours.
Nice course
First nine played excellent and fast. Then we ran into a league that was extremely slow on Monday on the back nine. It was taking over 25 min per hole on the back nine vs about less than 10 min on the first nine. Thus we were not able to complete the round due to a bad rain. Course is very nice and well kept. Practice facilities are very nice.
Golf Now
This is the only way I golf anymore. The deals are so good I find it hard to pay full price anywhere.
Best in the area
Great course for the golfnow price. Good condition and nobody on the course
Excellent Condition
The greens are the best I have played this season.
Very enjoyable round
From the minute we arrived, course was welcoming. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and were offered the chance to tee off earlier than our prepaid discounted time. Greens were much faster than expected with very few ball marks. Bunkers and fairways were well-maintained and rough was short, making it easy to find wayward balls. Layout was fair with tees spaced appropriately so that 3 golfers playing from red, blue and black tees all enjoyed the round. A single joined my twosome on the 5th hole and we never waited to take a shot again, finishing in about 3 1/2 hours on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.
Good Value
The course and greens were in nice shape. It's been 10+ years since I last played here, so I was very happy with the conditions. Beverage cart came by every 2-3 holes. A nice rarity. Green speeds were a bit uneven at times, but in good shape. Played in 4:15 with only a few short waits, not too bad after a strange start. They had a threesome, a single then a twosome go in front of us...odd.
I will definitely make a return visit.
Great course for women
While I found the course challenging and the condition of the course very good, my wife really enjoyed her round. The ladies tees gave her a wonderful opportunity to score well and she took advantage on the front nine. We had a great day and will recommend Pinecrest to our friends
Another very nice park disctrict course
Very nice facility. The clubhouse nicer than expected. Scorecard a little funky (par 3's not pictured). Well maintained with good greens.
Great weather. Slower than normal pace.
The course was in pretty good condition on a very sunny, 90 degree day. So the turnout at the course was pretty substantial. The course played well. I'm usually a very fast paced golfer, so 4 1/4 hours for me seems like an eternity. Otherwise, the service cart was understocked, but the staff was rather friendly. I would recommend this course to most golfers I know.
Pinecrest
I had never played this course before... The pace of play was rather slow. The greens were somewhat slow and had too many propeller leaves to spend time reading putts...
Diamond in the "ruff"
Pinecrest is consistently in great shape. The staff is THE most friendly. Dennis, Tom etc. are the best.

Cozy and nice challengsble course
I love this course. I will be again soon. Some difficulties and challenging hole here and there. With wind 15 mph lots fun also. Not easy green either. Highly favorable for high single to 16 HC. Some advanced senior and femele golfers this is the right course.
Nice course
We played in the early spring so the trees were not a factor yet. The greens are fairly challenging in spite of the early season. The course was clean and enjoyable.
Early season play
After brutal winter, course ready.
Fairways soft.
Greens above average for April 9.
Slow play biggest negative. Reason? Nicest day in a looooong time!
