Needs some work to charge this much
Have played here before, so I do like the track. However, this was the first time this year.
Greens fees have gone up, but then again, what hasn't? Sadly though, the care in maintaining the course has gone down considerably.
Tee boxes are poorly kept and are weedy. Most greens are damaged from burn out. Flag sticks are in need of replacement and ball washers without water do not serve a purpose.
I was truly saddened by the shape of the course.
Terrible Course Conditions
Greens and fairways were parched in spots and greens had not only not been aerated in over 5 years, they also evidently were not rolled either. Additionally there were many goose droppings, large leafs and tree debris on the greens. Maybe they don't own a blower either. Very disappointed.
Terrible
Course was in terrible shape! Never will play course again!!
Poor Conditions
The place seems like it doesn't get taken care of that well. Roughs were insanely deep, like major tournament deep, made no sense. Greens were in poor shape. Would not play again.
Good Golf
My boys and I enjoyed the course layout and pace of play was great. We finished in 3 hours. Great value for your money, the staff was friendly and helpful.
course not ready yet
I usually like this course. But after the long winter, the course is not ready yet. There was no difference between fairway and rough. The course needs some care. Hopefully, it will be ready in a few weeks.
Good Course Good Value
The course conditions are good, esp. for the price. Need more yardage markers - at the very least every par 4 and par 5 should have a 150 yard marker.
Staff was Rude
This course is fine in terms of conditions. Not beautiful but not unkept either. What ruined it for me was the service. The older gentleman in the clubhouse was grumpy and disrespectful to not only myself, but the other patrons who were paying ahead of me. On top of this, the beverage cart driver passed my group 3+ times without stopping. How about some employees who are excited about golf on a Saturday? An angry cashier doesn’t set the tone for players to have a fun day.
Terrible experience
My 11 year old son and I played there yesterday. It's mid-April and there was zero work done to manicure the golf course! There was no distinction between the fairway and the rough. None. There were downed tree branches everywhere. This place hasn't cut the grass since at least last year. At the turn, we decided it was unplayable. We asked for the a refund on the back nine and they refused. They didnt even offer a rain check for a later date. When I said the course was not playable, the response was "It's April what do you expect." Well, every other Illinois course is in shape to play! If you're not, then you should warn the golfers before hand that the course is in very poor shape. The response was completely un professional and insulting. I will never come back to play here again.
Not worth the money
Not every exaggerating, worst kept course around the area. Greens are like pudding on the moon and the tee box looks like my dad’s backyard. For the price you can go almost anywhere in the area any get triple your value.
Condition
Very disappointed with the upkeep of this course. Great layout and good pace but the price for the condition is not adequate. I will not be back.
Course Conditions
My favorite course. Love the layout. Not certain what happened but conditions have dropped tremendously this season. It is very frustrating. Not sure if new GM is in role or what situation is, but definitely low low quality course conditions. Then, that combined with higher rates and some new rule about only golf cart useage in mornings.
This is the US Navy course, I feel honored as non military to be able to play. Why in the world are our tax dollars not flooding into making this a pristine course? Make it free for all military and I’ll pay higher rate, but for goodness sake…let’s get the course conditions elevated immediately. Sorry, I just love this course and it was my home course, but now…it’s just frustrating.
