Great Shape Early Season
Spring in Southern Illinois can be wet and cold. That makes it difficult to find a course. Eagle Creek has the answer. We played there April 15 after two weeks of rain and the course was in very good shape. The rolling fairways were drained and bright green. The greens were okay but rounding into shape. Eagle Creek is a challenge off the tee. Holes work both left and right and some of the dog legs are severe. Our group had a blast. Great value. Check it out.
Great course to play
Fun course. Lots of turns & elevation changes. Looking forward to going back.
Play this Course!
Course was in great shape, other than fairways had been cut to close and is in need of rain. Course overall in great shape! Pin placements were tough, which makes the back very challenging.
Great course
This course was out in the country but was well worth the money and an excellent course in great condition. I highly recommend!
On the lake
Beautiful course. They’ve really done a great job of turning the course back into a great playable course. Clubhouse is lacking but the staff was great! Will be back again! Great rates!
Rude Starter
Not very friendly starter. Came out on the course and scolded us and said that he told us something when , in fact he didn’t. Not very customer friendly. A real d!&k!
Enjoyed
Course was I. Great shape. Beautiful day very challenging
Great Course
Eagle Creek is an excellent and challenging course. It was in great shape. The fairways were well groomed.
A challenge for beginners
This course has a lot of trees and doglegs. Be prepared to come up with some strategy instead of reacing for the driver all the time. The greens are a little small and there are bare spots in some of the fairways but pretty decent for a course in the country. No drinking water to be found anywhere. This may be a covid aftereffect but its hard to do 18 with what you carry in your bag.
Great course with great staff
The greens were aerated but in pretty good shape. Will be great in a few weeks
Course shape
I really like this golf course and have played in the summer. This was first time in the fall and the fairways on some holes were in poor condition. Several had areas completely turned to mud perhaps from the sprinkler system. Also, leaves everywhere. It’s frustrating to lose balls on fairways because the leaves are so thick you can’t find them. Upkeep needs upgrading in the fall.
Course etiquette a problem
Monday in September should have a good speed of play. Not so. Lots of two-somes and three-somes that we’re not very good, extremely pokey and inconsiderate. As a single I got stuck behind people who didn’t offer to let me play through. I had to jump holes. Others thought every shot was the deciding factor for the Master’s, requiring a five minute conversation.
This is a terrific course, but when it is crowded they need a warden to move people along so they maintain a reasonable pace of play.
Not good
Tee boxes were not set up, greens were in bad shape. Layout is horrible unless you prefer dog legs. Guy behind counter made feel guilty for using golf now. He said he should charge me something because they don't make any money when someone books through golf now. I do not recommend this course.
Errant staff
Booked a tee time. No aerification alert and no information that the course was Carr paths only. Tried to play two holes and was not enjoying. Came back asked for a refund or rain check so I can come back and play when the conditions were good was told no.
