Old Orchard Country Club

We have played Old Orchard many times but this time may be our last. Pace of play was very bad as there seemed to be one slow foursome and with no rangers they never picked up play. We waited on nearly every shot. The tee boxes were very uneven and grass was long. Leaves were bad but there is not much you can do about that. Overall our group voted to give this one a rest for a few years.

It was a nice sunny day but windy. Tee boxes were in very poor shape. Uneven and not easy to find a level good spot. Greens were not as good as previously played. We have played here a few times but nearly all of our foursome said there are better places to play for the money. It took us 4 hours and 45 minutes to play which is too long. No rangers appeared to be out on the course.

Course in good condition, need to blow leaves off greens. No women’s tees.

Way to go to Doug and staff really working hard during difficult times to make the experience enjoyable! Conditions getting better as season draws near the end…..you might want to catch this track soon!

5 hour round to play a par 70, 6100 yard course. No ranger, no one pushing the pace of play.

Showed up at 8:45 for 9:20 tee time, starter hurries me to tee off at 9:10 to pass the original 9:10 tee time, only to wait at every tee box on the front 9.

Half the course was roped off, couldn’t drive to golf cart on the fairway.

Round was $100. Waste of money. Beautiful day though

Greens were mowed ……better than last time! Pace of play 4 hours.

I’ll start by saying the staff I dealt with was the friendliest around. Never had a better experience with golf course employees than here. They have a starter in the morning who is a phenomenal guy, and the PM shift has great guys too. The course could have been in better shape but it is almost October so can’t expect perfection. I like this place. If I lived closer I’d play it a lot more

Course was in the best condition I have seen it in, in a long time

A good muni….interesting layout. Played black tees so you get a 175 yd, 210 & 225 over water par 3. Greens are slow & fuzzy, tee boxes are beat lots of ball marks on greens but that’s every muni this late in the season. Good food at the turn but no coolers allowed . 3rd or 4th time I’ve played this summer & I’ll get one more before end of summer.. 35 bucks with cart on How Now deal.

Stayed on the group in front of us and the round took 5.5 hours.

Not a bad course, had a couple that was holding us up. But other than that, not a bad course.

Course conditions left something to be desired. Halfway house was closed when we finished at 3:15 PM and bar was not open, just a limited selection of beer available from cooler in pro shop. Sign said beverage cart was on course but never saw. No drinking water on course - all the stations were empty. Bunkers short of sand, tee have many divots, and fairways have bare spots.

For the price, the course was pretty good. Fun layout and had a enjoyable round. The tee boxes were destroyed for the most part and it seems like they forgot to mow the rough, but it was overall, if you’re looking to get out and play, it works. The rangers could be a bit off—followed us and as my friend was grabbing a rake, started complaining that he wasn’t going to rake the bunker. Odd. Food offerings were great.
