BLOOMINDALE, Ill. – So, which is the best?
Is it the East? Or is it the West?
This is a problem officials at Indian Lakes Resort don’t have a hard time answering.
You see, officials see positives in both championship style layouts. In fact, they believe each course offers something different and unique – a trait that is making this vacation style resort so popular.
“One has a lot of water and a lot of trees and sand,” course representative Mike Wenzel said of the West course. “The other [the East] doesn’t have as much water, but it has plenty of sand and trees. The East is more wide open.”
With two courses, players of all skill levels will be satisfied.
“On the West course, the shot are all together tougher and tighter,” Wenzel said. “On the East, the shots aren’t so demanding and there is more room for error. The East is more enjoyable for the weekend golfer.”
In addition to golf, the resort has plenty of other things to offer. The service, according to Wenzel is second to none.
“We gear our service to the customer,” he said. “We have indoor/outdoor pools, tennis courts and tents for corporate outings.”
Indian Lakes also has a health club, which comes equip with spa and steam room facilities. The resort prides itself is the package they have to offer for weekend retreats.

I will make a prediction: "Open Doctor" Rees Jones' facelift, with an eye toward both daily-fee golfers and a U.S. Open, has easily vaulted Dubsdread at Cog Hill into the top 10 of Golf Digest's ranking of America's top public courses. Golfers in the Chicago-land area are truly blessed to have Dubsdread at their back door.
