Ruffled Feathers Golf Club

The course layout is average. Plenty of sand traps. Pace of play was great. Snce we played on a Sunday 92 degree day at 106pm the course was not crowded. The group before and behind use were both 2 holes apart. Enjoyed the island Par 3.

This course has long been one of my favorite public courses in the Chicagoland area. However, my recent experience makes me not want to be back anytime soon. We played in the afternoon on 7/3. Their had been a ton of rain and we expected the course to be wet and it was in better condition than we could have thought. Our problem was the pace of play. In the afternoon over a holiday weekend I’d expect a round to take a little longer than usual. However, this was absolutely ridiculous. We ended up leaving after 14 holes because we were staring at the group in front of us waiting to tee off because the group ahead of them had just drove up to their balls. This was at the 4 hour and 15 minute mark of our round. Every single hole this seemed to be the case where we’d wait 10 minutes (at least) to hit shots. We called the clubhouse on 11 to send someone out to see why the entire course was being held up as we didn’t see a Marshall through the entire duration. They came out on 12 and seemed to just drive by without saying a word to any group. We expected this round to take a bit longer than a normal weekend but we were staring at 5.5 hour round and for $105 this seems absolutely ridiculous. The course didn’t seem to care that every group was waiting 10-15 minutes both off the tee and for their approaches.

Tee boxes are very confusing because they aren’t all marked.
No rakes in most bunkers and some had puddles.
What used to be an exceptional course is now a diamond in the rough. 5HR round because no rangers are out, also no beverage cart.
Got a great deal on the rate and that’s the only way I’ll return.

Taking into account the time of year, the course was in exceptional condition. Pro shop is currently undergoing renovation so, if you’re low on supplies, consider stopping at a sporting goods store

Staff are vey friendly. Course layout is great. However greens and bunkers needs some work.

First time playing the course and even though it was winter the course was much more playable than many others in the area. Staff was excellent and for practice balls, cart and round was a great value. Would definitely play again

The weather was not great. It started drizzling as we teed off on the first tee, and got heavier as the round went on. By the back nine we were playing in a steady pour. The pace was great, but of course, there was hardly anyone left on the course.

Despite the wet conditions, the course took the water very well. The fairways were very playable and greens were still true. We were impressed at how well the wetlands helped keep the course drained.

Torn up tee boxes and rock hard, pot marked greens. This course is overplayed. Greens could not hold any approach shots. Not a $100+ greens fee caliber course.
