Short but not easy to make PAR
Played Island-Highland course, joined 3 other players, Nice course even though putting greens are hard . Enjoyed again every time I come here, Today's score was 88,hoping to hit better on next round..
Good course!
Fun round pace of play a bit slow at times. Agree with previous comments about slow play and rangers. Overall decent course for the money. Would play again.
Great day
Booked last minute, had a great time. Golf course in nice condition, played Highland and Woodlands. Teed off @ 11:50am, done by 3:15pm as a threesome. Can't beat that!
one of our favorites
3 challenging and interesting 9s, Mike and the staff are friendly. The greens are in very good shape except for those who do not fix their ball marks on the green---congrats to the groundskeeper.
Would have given an excellent rating but for the pace of play. There was a 4some who was extremely slow. Nobody in front of them for 2+ holes. We finally passed them and we didn't see anyone behind us (even on the 2 previous holes behind us) all day long.
We'll definitely be back because we really enjoy playing here and the pace of play was an exception rather than the rule.
Great Value from GolfNow
Played as a single. Not clear where to go at first to find proshop/check in since it was my first time and and it's on the Hilton's property. Just followed a crowd of people carrying golf bags and realized that you have to carry your bag through the building/pro shot to get our back where course is. Got range balls to warm up but machine dispenser wasn't working properly. Had to have someone come out and get range balls and therefore rushed through my bucket and missed original tee time. They had an outing that day so starters seemed a bit per-occupied. Once I got on the course it was really nice. played island then woodland with 2 other golfnow guys. greens were covered with divots that people didn't repair. prob fixed at least 6-10 every hole. other than that, cant beat for the price and we played in 3.5 hours (teed off at noon, done by 3:30). Ill be back!
Great Value
Course conditions were great and for $39 to ride with GPS...awesome!
blackhawk trace island/highland
pace of play was very slow on island course 2 1/2 hr waited on every shot weather was warm but very windy tee time are too close together. group ahead played from the tips but shouldn't have which really slowed us down but they were waiting on every hole as well which is why I think times are too close. Greens were smooth and rolled well in spite of the fact no one seems to fix their ball marks I fixed about a half dozen on every green. areas around the greenside bunkers on the island course are in very poor shape ie; bare spots poorly maintained edges. and a little too much sand in bunkers 3 times I was in the bunker all plugged lies. pace picked up on back 9 but their target time of 4 hrs 25 mins is too long and no one enforced the pace of play because there was no where to go which brings it back to tee time spacing. It would help if the course would find some way of ensuring groups are playing from the proper tees @ 7000 yards very few groups should be playing from the tips.
Pace of play terrible
I golfed here on a Friday, the course was jam packed and backed up, I tee'd off 15 minutes after my scheduled time and it only got worse. It took over 3 hours to play 9 holes, when I made the turn there was a backup to start the back 9, I gave up and quit after that. When people complained, the staff tried to blame 1 slow playing group for entire mess, but obviously there was more to it than that. These guys either over booked or sent people out at wrong intervals. Terrible experience, I've golfed here several times , the pace of play is always slow but this particular day was the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. They gave me rain check for the back nine I gave up on, but no thanks, I won't be coming back.
Indian Lakes
Mike is the Pro shop is A +++++. The course is in great shape. Greens and Fairways are the best. One of the best courses in the area!!!!!
Nice Challenge
Course in good shape. Plenty of bunkers on the course and the greens make for a good challenge. Would golf here again
good place to play or practice !
nice place to play if you ride use the gps it will help you
Course in Nice Shape
Nice resort course. Many steep bunkers and areas of very long grass penalize errant shots near the green. Three nines - Highland, Island and Woodland. Oddly, players from Island and Highland both go to Woodland for the back 9.
Good value
Enjoyed the course. The greens on the island course still need some work, but other courses were good.
Great course
Course is in great shape for early part of season. Bar staff, like last year, inattentive and slow.
Good course
Very nice place to go if you find deals like we do fantastic greens are good fairways an is not to hard to play we play in about 4 hrs so yes go play it
An absolute must!
I played the Highland 9 and the Woodland 9, and they were both extremely fun and challenging. I was looking forward to playing the Island 9, but it was not open yet. If you haven't played here yet, you have to try it.
Same old...
Course was in very good shape but the greens like many other area course were hurt this past winter. Pace of play was 3:10 minutes, perfect!
This course had very good tees, fairways.
Played Highland/Woodland combo on May 7. Pace was just under 4 hours as a twosome behind a threesome. Greens were hard, but clean. Fairways and tees were in very good shape. Must play short, though, since everything scoots to the back of the green.
GOOD SHAPE
Th course is in descent shape considering the Chicago weather, rain, cold, windy, etc. The only thing to complain about are the bunkers, terrible! The fee is very reason especially this time of year. I have played Indian Lakes 4 times this past month and have been very pleased with the fairways, greens and tee boxes. Strongly recommend!
