Very Slow Pace
I've play this course several times a year, but this year each time I've played several the pace has been extremely slow, it took us 5 hours and 40 minutes to play 18 holes!
The course needs, at busier times like Saturday mornings, to take a much more active role in regulating the pace of play. They don't have an active starter, which they need to keep people in the queue and teeing off at the appropriate time and managing the foursomes better - we had a five some in front of us. Also, they need a more active marshall keeping the pace going, I didn't see the marshall on the course all day and I heard from other Golfers that he was badgering the people on the 7th tee which is shared with the first tee and next to the clubhouse, but the slow pace was way in front of them. Again, during the busy times the marshall needs to be out on the course keeping play going. We noticed several foursomes taking their sweet time, in fact one foursome had music playing from their golf cart load enough to hear a few holes away.
Although I like the course and it is pretty well maintain, after several experiences of slow play this year, I probably won't be back.
Cut the fairways.
The overall condition of the course is fine but they really need to cut the fairways so your not punished for hitting the fairway. At any other course it would be like hitting from the rough. If they mow the fairways like every other good course around this area this course would be ten times better if the mowed the fairways to the proper length.
Love the Hot Deals
This was an excellent course for the price we paid. I took my daughter and we walked 9 holes. We could have played 18 with a cart but chose to walk 9 instead. It was a great deal
Unusual.....
Firstly, the conditions of the greens and fairways are very good. The unusual is the layout, and lack of visible cart path of some sort. We had a tough time figuring where we were to find the next hole.
Don't let this discourage you though, its a solid golf course.
Nice course from the tips
Really fun course. Some hills and gradations to make for more challenging lies. Also, well kept greens and tee boxes. Did fix a few extra ball marks per hole, but that happens. Overall, very enjoyable round and fun course.
Not what I expected.
Fairways were dry and bare. Greens were slow and grainy. Long round. Never seen the course in those conditions.
Start off with a par 5!
The front nine is open and you're not penalized for wayward drives, but that's not the case on the back nine. Keep it in play and you can score well.
Regular @ Quail
I play this course several times a month. Always in very decent shape unless there is a big heat wave or little rain or both. As a20ish handicapper, I always find a challenge here. The GOlf Now bargain rates stretch my golf dollar. Keep it up
Great public course
This is a great public trac with wide open fairways. The greens roll true and medium. The course gets a lot of play and was full on a Tuesday afternoon. Play was a little slow but should be expected when the course is full. Overall a great value through GolfNow.Com
Slow play
Nice course with some challenging holes. Back side is a little more tighter then the front. Our biggest problem was the group ahead of us. The final 5 holes they joined up with the group ahead of them and we were stuck waiting for 7 players to play each holes. Very disappointed in the staff to allow this to happen especially on a weekend morning. Again it was a nice course with friendly staff but too slow play.
Quail Meadwos
Course was in excellent shape. Starter got us on in time.
Way to many tee times
They booked tee times every 4 minutes.... Very slow pace of play... Almost 6 hours for 2 of us
Good Course
The course was fairly challenging, but not impossible. The greens were tough to read and played really fast. The only drawback was that my group got stuck behind a group of 3 that was walking and they did not understand pace of play etiquette.
Overall, I would play this course again.
Great course for the money
The first two holes the conditions where not so great with very thick roughs but after these the course was in great condition. The greens where all in really great shape.
OK
I went with my 16 year old son and was over charged. I was told one price from golfnow and when I got there It was a different higher price. I played anyway and my son and I did enjoy are selfs. I just didn't think that was right. The guy told me that he was going to have to call golfnow and straighten it out.
Decent Course
This course is a good option if you are looking for affordability. It is in decent shape and the price is right around what you would expect. It is in a good location for the Peoria area.
Great course but Fall maintenance makes it rough
This course is very good for our occasional 18 holes though we only played 9 holes this day. The greens have been aireated and are very difficult to putt well. Tee's and fairways are in good shape but need a break to recover from the season. Price is right and carts are in good shape.
nice variety, long par 4's and 5's
Back 9 especially challenging. Must get tee shots in position to go thru gaps in trees on 2nd shots.
Nice course
This is a decent course to play. Not super long, not super short. I enjoy playing it for a change of pace from my usual tracks.
