Aldeen Golf Club

Course is in fabulous shape, and the greens are absolutely perfect. They were cut the day we played to be as quick as any greens I've ever played. Not sure if that is normal, but it was fun getting humbled by these perfect greens! :)

Make the drive and play this course!

Perfect greens and fairways. Many tees to choose from. Beautiful scenery. We have played both times as a twosome and were paired up with another twosome both times. Enjoyable company each time.
Strangest thing though---the starter (Tom) was talking all the time I was getting ready to drive on the first tee. You would think he would know better.

Had 4 1/2 hrs until sunset at time of tee off. Finished 14 holes and was stopped by darkness. Extremely slow play with no ranger seen at any time

#14 to #15, there is no sign.(or may be we couldn't find?) For the people who play here first time, like us,it takes more time to find #15.
Otherwise, we'll be back!!

Great layout and course was in excellent shape. It's a must play

The staff was extremely friendly and provided helpful insight about the course. While the course was somewhat busy, there were no significant delays and we completed 18 holes in just less than 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon. Even though there was water on most holes, you could easily see the hazards and the layout of the holes were reasonable.

This is a shot makers golf course. Tee boxes for every skill level. Need to hit your targets! Beautiful fairways, greens are fast & true. Water and bunkers make you think! Best course I've played this year!

If there are any "gotchas" to this course, they're of your own making. There are no blind shots or surprises around the doglegs. Water is present on several holes but is not difficult to carry if you play conservatively.

Always enjoy playing Aldeen, challenging and always in great condition. Practice facility across the street has a nice setup for anything you want to work on.
Noonan's after the round scenic 19th hole good for dining or after golf.

I got a hot deal from Golfnow. Just over $30.00 for eighteen holes with cart. The course was in excellent condition. One feature I like about this course is that all the holes are different with various lengths and shapes. There is a lot of sand and most of it is in great shape. I know because I found a lot of the traps. The only problem was the back nine was jammed up. Two hours on the front two hours forty five minutes for the back. If you are ever in Rockford you must play here.

The Good: Very strong municipal layout in Rockford has enjoyed great fanfare for good reason. Unassuming track is heavily wooded but fair off the team and very challenging green complexes. Very good course conditions and small, undulating greens. Nice clubhouse has the appropriately named "Noonan's" bar and grill. Includes elaborate practice center off-site from the main course area. Decent staff and quick pace of play. One of the better values outside of the Chicago market. Just golf - no houses to be seen!

The Bad: Green could hold a little better. Service is not up to bar for an upscale public facility. No restroom areas and limited on-course amenities. GPS doesn't work on carts. Not enough doglegs for the skilled golfer as most Par 4's are similar.

The Verdict: Aldeen is becoming a Top 15 public course in the state, but amenities and service are lagging behind. A very fun, fair golf experience. One of the best "muni's" in the state.

Best Hole: There are many good holes, but the finishing hole is a great dogleg left Par 5 around a lake. Very pretty!

We loved this course...it was in Country Club shape...so well maintain! Greens in perfect condition. Very pretty track.

But bring some extra balls. Very challenging for the average player with a lot of water in play. Having said that it is a fantastic course and visually stunning. Lots of fun and very walker-friendly.

Rockford continues to have some of the best bang for your buck public courses in the country!

Great course--layout, greens,flowers, etc
Only issue is goose droppings--watch where you step.

Played the course 3 weeks ago with friends and we all thought the couse at that time was in horrible shape. The rough was 3-4 inches long and the greens were not not mowed. Yesterday it was a lot better except the pace of play was awful. We teed off at 1030 and didn't finish until 335. Groups in front were bad and had no etiquette but there was no rangers on duty.

Great course layout, condition was awesome!

They take care of the course and you - the starter was GREAT, the check in fast and helpful.

This place is a great value and I highly recommend to any experienced player
