Not worth it
I know this course is cheap to play but I haven't seen a course this bad ever. There's hardly any grass on the course, and mud everywhere. Tee boxes and fairways are actually just rough, and greens role like a fairway should. Save your money and go to a driving range.
Worst ever
I played 18 holes and it was the absolute worse golf experience I have ever had..The course was in terrible shape..it's pretty bad when you would prefer to play out of the rough..They should be paying people to play golf here, not charging..I will never play this course again and surely would not recommend it to anyone..The staff was friendly and even said the course was in terrible shape, wow they weren't lying
Very good value
Good layout good vondition
Scenic and good for women to play!
I enjoy playing this course because it is somewhat challenging for women but also fair so I was able to play without a lot of difficulty on a very hot and humid day.
Madison Golf Course
Got a good "hot deals" rate to play the course. It made the day worth it. Paying higher rates here is asking a bit much. Great weather and good course conditions made for a nice round of golf. Greens were quick and in good shape. Nearly aced the 17th hole and nearly eagled the 18th hole. Had birdies on both for a nice finish. Course is not difficult if you just hit your ball half way good. I grew up playing golf at this course and only recently played here again. There are so many good courses to play in my area. I did this as a favor to a friend who is somewhat of a beginner at golf. It made his experience much better. Good course for juniors and seniors. Gives many chances to post low scores as the course is short. Still, it's a nice place to go if your game isn't on. This course can build your ego.
game play
Rest course for honing ur game and everyone was very courteous. My cart was ready outside the club house.
nice beginners course
not a real hard course, pretty flat, course is kept in good shape
call this golf course first before you book your tee time
I booked my tee time 2 days in advanced and the golf course is not open when I got there. I practiced on my putting for about 30 minutes and luckily someone showed up to transfer me to another public golf course. Lesson learned.....
good course for beginners
great value. course is in average shape worth the money we paid. would do it again
Very Enjoyable
I live across from the 6th green. Actually purchased that house when I took up the game of Golf..."Love it & love the people". Looking out my dining room window, I enjoy watching the "little old man" who walks the course every evening. When I first noticed a year or two ago, his legs were tired & he would sit & take a rest. He also would pleasantly great the players as they caught up with him & he would wave them on through. I watch with great delight as teenage foursomes "high five" each other when they get a "chip in" or sink a nice putt. The mowers in the mornings (I play 9 holes before work at 9 AM) are friendly & motion me to continue playing. We all look out for each other & it's a great neighborhood. In about a year I will also be retired & look forward to the morning exercise.....After all, this certainly beats the Winter of treadmilling in the basement. It's perfect especially for anyone trying to keep in shape, but needs to take care of their knees, hips, etc......Love Madison Golf Course!! p.s. It makes paying Real Estate taxes not so bad considering the beautiful view!
Great course for beginners or those who aren't picky
The golf carts are the slowest I've seen!! The staff seemed like they hated their jobs. The fairway wasn't distinguishable because it and the rough were mowed the same and were in poor condition. Greens were in pretty good shape and tee boxes were good with a few exceptions. Great course for those that make errant shots. Extremely open course easy to find the bad shots. Overall for the $14 I paid with cart I would play it again wouldn't play full price though!!!
Short course, but in pretty good shape
Madison has always been a short course, which isn't always a bad thing. It can put you in a position to practice shots you may not hit a lot. The course was in pretty good shape considering the summer conditions (dry, hot). Of the Peoria courses I've played the last few weeks, it was probably in the best shape or one of the best!
