Always a fun round a Silver ridge
Glad to see them working on the cart paths , it will make a great course even better
Great Layout, Friendly staff, Fairly maintained, AWFUL cartpaths
I love the hilly terrain and the layout. Most of the holes have a reasonable elevation change. Holes 2, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 are amazing! If you play there you must use the back tees on 11 and 12 , if you can find them. Tee box on hole #14 (par 3) is the only tee box maintained reasonably well because it is along Highway 2. No coincidence I suppose. Please fix the deep pot holes on the cart paths... They are dangerous. If you have a bad back, do not use then. I recommend this course ONLY for the visual appeal.
Beautiful day!
Course play was fast, the staff was very accommodating, I arrived a bit early and was able to go off early!
Challenging
Driven by this course for 30 years. First round today. Very challenging, some tight fairways and smaller greens. I thought the layout was great. Wjhoever decided to carve out a course in these woods must have had a good time doing so. I think I would struggle if I tried to walk it. Some long green to tee stolls
A diamond with rough edges
A scenic track, just off Rock River , with plenty of elevation changes on most of the holes. Fairways and greens in reasonably good shape, A few sand bunkers need major restoration. Friendly staff. A recipe for an enjoyable round, right? But................the cart paths are in horrible shape. I avoided them whenever I could. They need to be replace. I know it is expensive to build/replace cart paths, but please put some asphalt into the deep holes for a start.
Fun course
The course was in great shape. It's a fun place to play. They could use some maintenance to the cart paths as they are starting to detereate.
Challenging Course extremely bad cart paths
The Course has some wonderful challenging fairways. Some so narrow you might have to tee off with your favorite iron just to keep it in play. But also some nice wide ones mixed in to give one a confidence lift for not hitting perfectly straight! But the cart paths were extremely bumpy. Pot holes everwhere. This course is beeter played by walking this will save on your kidney punches at every turn. Also the pace of play was quite pushy. not fun when golfers can't back off and be patient. Other than that it is a challenging and beautiful course set in the hills and woods. Actually saw a Mama deer with her two babies. Almost hit them with my tee off. She sniffed it and moved on. LOL! I quaint moment!
Much Better
Staff is much better since Brian arrived, love playing there now !!!!
Steamy day on a great course
Muggy as bleep, but the course was humming. The pace was a tad slow, but not too bad. Course was in great shape, and love playing there. Must do Heavenly 11, what a blast.
Favorite Course
Have been playing this course for over 30 years and it is awesome. It’s in better shape now than ever before.
