No standing water!!
We were happy to see that there was only one hole with minimal standing water after all the rain we have had. Great shape considering the recent weather.
Established course
The course opened 1930, the layout is like others of that era. Very open course, you can hit driver all day. Fairways are cut nicely.
The disappointment was the winter damage to about half of the greens. Some of the bunkers didn't have rakes (?), I will have to try it again in the fall.
rough too long
good but the rough was too long and too long next to the greens
Good Overall Course
Overall, this was a pretty good course... Not too challenging, so even newer golfers can still have a good time playing it. Most of the par 4's are relatively short, but all in all, definitely a solid course for a nice afternoon out. Not too much water to deal with and the grass was cut relatively well.
Below average course
Only reason I played here again was because the rate at my other regular courses were very high.
Below average course... lots of tree damage, branches in the rough. Overlapping tee boxes, just a strange course, I don't like it!
I think it's perfect for anyone starting out.
not bad for the money
for 14 dollars each we got a cart and 18 holes. The course wasnt in the greatest condition but if your the average hacker then this course is a great place to start.
the best for the price we love it
this course are good for weekly and beginer player.
Rough are long and tough also have a lot of very changing hole
aspecially hole No 1 , 9 plus tough 3 finishing holes 16,17.18
absoluetely awful
there are no fairways for the most part, basically playing in your backyard, people hitting ground balls all over the course making it unbearably slow, the worst golf experience of my life no doubt, also there were no blue tees
Sand traps in very poor condition. Put some sand in them or take them out.
Fairways and greens are in nice condition. Tee boxes and sand traps need work. Some tee boxes are in rough shape and unable to hit out of most traps, like cement with little sand and packed down. I like to think that the conditions exist due to being later in the season.
Short but challenging
Nice, mature course. Small greens with plenty of break. Not particularly long, but the topography adds challenge. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Could use more directional signage on the course, tough to find your way around as a first timer.
Fox Valley
I play this course several times over the summer and it is god value for the money.
Last minute choice
Short 18er (right around 6000 yd)...Was told the greens were slow, they were the slowest I've been on in a long time. Very sticky grass too..2 of us played around 11:30 and were never bothered.
No easy way of getting to the course, unless you live in N. Aurora.
Fox Valley Golf Club
Fairly straightforward municipal course with holes right on top of one another. Decent value for the cost.
Great course for fun
This is a good course if you are headed out with a few buddies for 18 or just wanna get a quick round in. It isn't in as good of shape as its sister course. Philips park. However it is cheaper and worth the money. Just don't expect it to look like Augusta.
Great course for a beginner or intermediate golfer to tune their game
Wide fairways offer opportunity to stay out of trouble but do offer a number of challenges.
Very challenging. Small greens and tight fairways make up for the shorter yardage.
If I didn't live so far away (Oswego) this would be my home course. It's a great value when booked on line and the people there are great every time I've played there.
the course was in excellent condition
This course is not a long course, but challenges you to hit clean shots. Not too much trouble if you hit it straight.
Very good course for high handicap golfer to improve his game.
As usual with this course, staff is very friendly and happy to see the customers. The guys taking care of the course seem to take great pride in keeping it up as good as possible.
It is like having a favorite place to hang out once a week.
Other than being asked to speed up at the turn (we were on a 2hr 15min pace w/a 2some in front of our 4some), it was all good.
The course is average but challenging (par 3s and a long par 5) on occasion. The greens were in good shape and the rough was manageable. Limited water and a rather accurate scorecard helps avg duffers from unexpected hazards. More yardage markers (or make the ones available more visible) would be helpful. Once you've played this course twice, not knowing where the next tee box is located (except #10) becomes less frustrating. Food offering equal to bar food and the cart person made very regular rounds.
