Friendly staff.
Course is in decent shape. The staff are all pleasant. Pace of play was good for first five holes. Then we caught up to a father and young son just learning. They were oblivious to the fact there were other golfers. Ranger should have been out there. There was more than an entire hole open front of them for most of our round.
Fun course
Well groomed course and fun to play for all skill levels. Pace of play for a Saturday morning was shockingly good. Played 18 in 3hr 50mins....First time playing there and will be back!
Good course
Course is well maintained and pace of play is good unlike other courses that seem to over book
Traditional in great condition
Countryside Traditional course is always in great condition. It played as a fairly easy course because there are very few greenside bunkers. I always go in bunkers for an 18-hole round but didn't go in once here.
I have one complaint about the course and that is on the majority of Greens, when you're done with the hole and you walk off the green (and some tee-boxes too) you have to be extremely careful of you're footing because all of a sudden there are very steep downslopes.
Two years ago I badly sprained my left ankle because I was not ready for the steep downslope of walking off the green. One of the guys we played with yesterday almost fell straight down.
Countryside needs to re-design these greens to make the side slopes much more flattened out.
Other than that its a great course to build your confidence in your game.
Quick Pace
Played as a single in about 3 1/2 hours. Course in very good shape.
Countryside weekend
I played this course on a Saturday morning and the round unfortunately took almost 5hours. There were 6 groups of four all backed up on one hole at one point. I finally called the club house and complained. About 15min later we saw a ranger come by and the pace seemed to pick up for the rest of the round. I was very happy to see them get it moving again.
The course was in great shape and the greens were very true. I would play again, but not sure about the weekend because of such slow play.
this is a fun course to play
Great time for dad and sons to share. The course is fun, challenging and worth the money. The greens are kept up well. The water holes are challenging.
Where's the beer girl
I think they must book their tee times too close together because the course was a log jam with waits on every hole. The round took 3 riders well over 5 hours. In this time the beer cart only came to us once. The course conditions were good, but not worth the $54.
Fun little muni
Great muni here, nothing fancy. Grass, rolling greens & course was very well kept. Staff was uBer friendly. Only 2 minor beefs, 1 the carts are very dated. There was a threat of rain & I relized these carts didn't even have the tail gate rain protector so in the event of a drizzle, look out your equipement is going to get wet. The 2nd was that I left my driver HC behind. Called the next day no luck, drove back out to the course a week later still no luck. First time in a long time that I dropped something at a course & it wasn't found. Ohhhh well...not the courses fault that I'm a doof!
"Very rude lady"
First time playing here and brought people from out of the country. The pro shop lady is very rude and condescending. Found out she is one of the managers. I would advice her to give better customer service if she wants the customers to return. However, the course is not too bad for $.
no drainage
Course has very bad drainage problems....some holes had lakes of casual water
Watch out for the wind
The Traditions was in very good shape considering the rough Spring weather. Open countryside allows the wind to be a factor in scoring. Good value for the money.
Please mow the fairways.
I would put this at 2.5 stars, so I rounded up. Biggest issue was the condition of the fairways. I know it rained the night before we played, so maybe they couldn't mow that morning. (although, the course was nowhere near being soaked. It was soft, but didn't see one speck of casual water) It seemed like the fairways hadn't been mowed in about a week. They were really bad. More like a first cut of rough. I had heard this was in decent condition, generally, so very disappointing. The greens had been aerated sometime recently, but they were actually pretty darn good. Layout is decent. Not really hard, but a fun course and certainly some trouble. My only other issue is lack of GPS and/or some hole maps. There were none except the general course layout on the scorecard. Some distances would have been nice for bunkers and such. I'll probably give it another chance at some point if I get another good deal. Paid $40. Definitely wasn't worth more than that.
Great course with plenty of challenges for all skill levels. Plenty of elevation changes and blind shots. Makes for a fun round.
I'd definitely recommend this course for a fun afternoon of golf.
Nice course for the money
Course was in OK shape with some ground under repair. Good hole layouts and fair play.
Pleasantly Surprised
I wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews, but I thought that the course had a nice layout and was in excellent condition. There were a few "throw-away" holes with several Par 4s under 350 yards. And yes, some of the greens were pretty tiny and tough to hit. Overall the course was a lot of fun. The first hole is straight and fairly easy; a good starting hole. Some of the other holes on the front nine were challenging and long. There are three par 5s on the front (two in succession) that are tough and the par 3s were nicely laid-out and challenging. The back nine is a little more picturesque and more hilly. There was a short par 5 and a very short par 3 that could use some more bunkers. The greens were fast and undulating, but putts ran true. Well worth the $54 weekend greens fee.
Good condition very slow play
Extremely slow play and rangers are useless. Saturday is not the day for beginners and juniors to play early
Very nice municipal course in great shape
No tricks, nice layout, excellent condition, fast greens. Hope to come back and play again
Great value for the money
Great value for the money (prairie or traditional). We only got 9 in because of the weather but I have played it before.
