Countryside-Prairie Course
Got paired with a couple of friendly folks. Course was in great shape. Not particularly challenging but very well maintained and a lot of fun to play. Pace of play was the only thing that was a bit of a bummer. We waited 2-5 minutes on every tee. I don't necessarily blame the course for that. There can be a lot of explanations for slow golf.
Beautiful course.
This course is one of the 2, 18 hole courses here at countryside. I played the traditional years ago but decided to try the prairie side and loved it. It is very wide open and not a lot of water. Which is great for not losing those $50 pro v1s! The only complaint was the beverage cart was in hiding until the 14th hole. But overal the course was beautiful the pace was fine and the price was even better!!
Great course, especially for the price
This course was in great shape despite the fact that it had rained leading up to my tee time. Really great conditions. Prairie is a better course than the Traditional. Everything about this place was good. I'd give it better ratings if the staff was more friendly and if they allowed you to get a dog or burger at the turn. They have nothing at the turn but a pop machine. Also, it was slow. I think it took us over 6 hours for the 18. I know it was the day before a holiday, but dang. I'll definitely play here again, but hopefully it will move faster AND I'll bring my own snacks!
Extremely Rude Customer Service
Played 18 holes on Sunday. This review doesn't reflect the rest of the staff or facility. Paul. Wow what can I say. One of the rudest people I have ever talked to over the phone. Very short, abrupt, tone of voice was rude, and seemed like I was wasting his time. I hope the management staff of this golf course takes action because his presents and attitude will drive customers away. In a customer oriented business, staff should be friendly and courteous at all times no matter on the situation. As a business owner, if one of my employees acted in the way Paul did, he would be no longer employed at my place of business. This hasn't been the first time I had a conversation with Paul and the first time was about the same. I shrugged it off like "he's having a bad day." However the second time was the same. I recon he's just a miserable person that doesn't like dealing with people.
The course however was in fabulous shape considering I played there early this spring and the fairways were in rough shape due to the harsh winter. The staff obviously took great steps in the golf course to get in nice playing shape. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I will go back again even thou I had a terrible experience with Paul. I hope management takes care of this. BTW.. reviews online and yelp have the same encounters with Paul in the past.
Countryside
Good course. Slow play, need better rangers. Waited on every shot
nice layout
Had west course closed for outing.Shoved everyone onto prairie course.2 hrs and 45 min unacceptable to shoot front nine.Rangers did nothing to speed up play.Left after 12 holes. To many walkers on the course.
Great condition
The Prairie Course was fun to play. It was open but still challenging. Lost a few golf balls in the tall grass but that's what happens when you play in 20 mph wind!
A fun course where people of all skill levels can score well
There's very little water...there are very few big trees. There are very wide fairways. It makes a good opportunity to score... That said, it is a fun golf course with lots of different types of shots, and different types of holes. Very enjoyable round of golf! (The guys ahead of me were slow, and no rangers were to be found, but other than that, no complaints!)
fun, course
The course was in good shape, it was a windy day so that made it even more challenging. Pace was a bit slow at times with backups at a few holes.
Course under repair
The fairways on many of the holes on the Prairie course are being reseeded. As a result, cart access to the those fairways is restricted. Until the cart restrictions are removed, I will not be playing this course again. This is disappointing because, the Prairie course was one of my favorite courses.
forgiving
Course marshall rude. Expected to play faster even though there was no one behind us.
winter woes?
Have played this course many times over the years and generally enjoyed experience. However, this time course was in poor condition with about 50% of fairway shots on our surrounded by barren grass. Employees stated winter is to blame but other courses in area did not have our conditions like theirs, seems more like bad management of grounds. For price would not recommend.
Golf Review
I've always enjoyed playing at Countryside. The staff outside and at the Golf Shop were very friendly. The man working behind the bar was very rude when I asked to order a sandwich. Great course, and some of the most difficult par 3's I have every played.
You get what you pay for
Pace of play was excellent. It's early in this season so I probably need to cut them some slack but ..the fairways were not cut. The greens were in really poor shape. Pretty wide open course without too much spectacular to look at. You pay $5.00 for a ridiculously small bucket of "rock hard" range balls. Service was very good. Nice staff and restaurant area. I think there are nice places to play. Go a mile down the road and play Steeple Chase instead. You will be more satisfied
Well maintained
Even after somewhat heavy rain the day before the course was in good condition. Only question was why we're there no tee markers on the mid length tees, only the black and forward tee boxes. We played from the mid tees regardless.
All in all a good experience even though the temps never got over 48 degrees.
A nice variety of challenging golf with great viewscapes.
A very scenic place to play golf. The course was fairly well maintained. Enjoyed the variety of challenging holes that provided the right mix and level of challenge for me. The availability of water and bathrooms throughout the course was an added plus.
Gorgeous course, friendly staff
Beautiful course on a beautiful day! One of our favorite courses in the area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the course was maintained beautifully. Would definitely play again.
Countryside Prairie
Course in good condition for a county course. Prices are reasonable.
Great place with great views.
This is a really great place to play a round of golf. Hit it straight and you can score well. Little long, but fair. REALLY IN GREAT SHAPE.
Nice course. I would be willing to play many times.
Nice open, playable course. Good greens, well maintained. Well run facility.
