Nice course, a "play again" type
Greens - great shape, can be a challenge
Fairways - very nice
Tee boxes - half of them need work, and better signage to hole direction. And saw a few sprinkler head blow-outs.
Nice older style course.
Been a few years since I played there. Was just like I remembered, tight tree lined fairways, small greens that putted pretty good, some fairways were in the process of being resodded.
A bit dissapointed
Needs to have better directions to the next tee box. Several blind shots where you need to find where the location of the green before hitting your drive. All in all, not bad. The greens need some work.
Not the best
They need more direction on where the next tee box is. We had to ask other golfers several times where it was. Fairways were not in the best of shape. Greens were ok.
If we knew the lay out, it would have been a better round.
Not bad but I don't think we'll take the 30 min drive again.
This course is good for all levels
I would play here again. The staff is friendly, the course has some nice features and it's a good value. There is a distinct difference between the front and the back and I enjoy that too.
Course is in excellent shape
Very wet day so the ball played to where you hit it. Greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them. They were smooth and the ball tracked where you hit it. Even the breaks were readable and true. Fairways as i stated were wet but the grass was very playable.
Golf personnel were courteous.
Good value for the cost. Fairways could have been better in places but overall adequate.
Greens were fast!
The old Locust Hills seems to be vastly improved since changing to the Hills at McKendree
The new management seem to be doing a much better job of maintaining the course than previous management. Several improvements could be readily noticed and appreciated. Given a couple of years and continued improvements, this course should be a great place to play.
Shot-maker's course
Course was in good condition overall, greens were in excellent shape. Not a long course, but a lot of doglegs and blind landing areas, increasing the difficulty level. Overall a nice course, but not a good value if you pay full price.
Fun course, Improved under University ownership
This course, formerly locust hills, has seen some quality improvement in course conditions since McKendree University bought it. Its short, but the number of doglegs make you think about a lot of shots. Greens were in really nice shape. Cart paths still need some attention, and a handful of tee boxes were uneven, but all in all a good course to play a well paced round with an opportunity to put a feel good number on the card!
Reasonable
The course was in pretty good shape. I am told it is better than when it was Locust Hills. It fairly short, I played the back tees and could reach all the Par 5's in two and there are a few Par 4's that are drivable or almost drivable.
Wish I Could Still Book Here
Although Locust is no longer of GolfNow, when they were here, I found myself booking them all the time.
The front and back 9 are like playing 2 different courses. The layout is good and the staff are awesome. I really enjoy this course a lot! They had the best value of pretty much anyone for a long, long time. Probably because it's a bit of a haul to get out to Lebanon.
I am hoping they make a return someday.
