Hot Deal is well worth it
I book this through a hot deal and got an additional 30% off with a discount code. Considering that I got a 2some for under $25 it is impossible for me to feel like I got anything other than a hot deal. Overall the course is in very good shape, but the staff lacks much personality.
Good local course
The Links is a nice layout. IC has golf match that day but we played in front and the pace was excellent. Course is very dry in rough but rest is nice. greens receptive to good hits and will punish you for off line ones.
Sand (I was in it all day) was good some places were hard but rake loosened it for hitting.
trees on coures but if your an average hitter they are not in the way (once again spent much time in them)
#9 if you can drive right tree line you can drive the green (group behind us did, his ball rolled right on up to the green, but as I said you got to hit over the tree line) Good luck
I got rates for hottips from golf now so was good price.

Hard & Fast
Classic straight-line farmland golf. Hard to tell in some places where the fairway ends and the rough begins. Greens are very fast and the ground all over the course is very hard in some places, so think twice before slamming your sand wedge into the turf in frustration after a flubbed shot or your shaft might snap in two. Not an overly-complex test, but can play long if you go off the wrong tees. Still has some quality signature holes like 8, 9, 12, 15, 17, and 18. Could be a 4-star course with a little better groundswork.
This course would be great for walking 18 if you are up for it!
The course is fairly flat. A few berms, a little water but nothing dreadful. Our most difficult part of play were the greens. They were very fast and misleading. What looked to be a break went straight and what looked straight had a break. We did get lost at one point and had to ask a fellow golfer for direction. It is layed out a bit different than most courses. The party in front of us ended up on the 9th green when playing the 18th hole. There were some interesting fairways to be sure. We had wonderful weather and very little wind. It was a great day of golf and if you want something a little bit different, this is a good course. The 19th hole had a special of chicken salad which was delicious and the person working there was very sweet and helpful.
Links at Jacksonville
I've always enjoyed this course but it now seems they are attempting to reduce costs by removing sand traps and letting the greens get very hard most likely due to reduced watering. Still the course is worth playing. I believe this course and many others are attempting to reduce golf course maintenance expense and promote club house use and profit due to the poor economy.
Yardage
Caught a deal for $20 and will not pay any more than that to play this course. The greens were in decent shape, my main complaint is the yardage listed on holes. Two holes on the back nine run parallel and are exactly the same distance but one is listed as a 394 yard par 4 and the other is a par 5.
