Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Eaglewood
Pace of play crazy slow, over 5 hours . Not worth the trouble
Always Enjoy Eaglewood
What I like most about this course is the tree lined fairways and elevation changes. The staff is super friendly and it is a good course for us seniors who hit the ball straight but not as far as we did in the good young days.
Short course. Too many severe greens with pin spots on severe slopes. Otherwise it’s worth at least one round.

Pace of play was pathetic
The pace of play was pathetic. I also saw a ranger practicing chipping while he was "working"

Great course . Will definitely play again.
The course was well maintained and I was able to finish 18 holes in around 2 hours. This wSaddefinitely a great experience and it also helped that I shot a good score🙂
EgoWood
Great shorter track that allows you to get a great score if you hit straight. Still has teeth and beautiful views. No range however and one of the worst hotdogs around.
September 2022
Having played here many times I was disappointed. The greens are full of unrepaired pitch marks, and for some reason the bunker were watered. The bunkers have always been difficult but watered they were unplayable.
Overall the value just isn't there. I could have played another course for $40 and I'm sure it would have been in better condition (greens and bunkers).
I found the greens extremely fast, it rained when reaching number 12. The rain lasted about 45 minutes and the greens were a bit easier to play after getting wet.
We were told the beverage cart was on the course, we didn't meet it until we reached number 9 tee, then met it again 3 times on the back 9. Meeting the cart on 9 is useless as you can stop at the bar for drinks and food at the turn. I would hope the cart would focus on holes 4/5 and 13/14 as that is where refreshments are probably most needed.
I love this course and would recommend it to friends, but this time I was disappointed. The value just wasn't there. At best $40 would be a reasonable price.
Nice course with Mature Trees
The course had a nice layout with many mature oak trees lining the fairways. The course is relatively short, but still challenging. It neighbors the famous Medina golf club and shares the rolling terrain. It's worth a try if you have not played there before.
The pace of play was brutal. We only got through 14 holes and that took 4 hours. There was a starter but never was around to check in. Played here a couple times, fun course, but won't be back on a weekend...basically they book and let it be a free for all.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Great valvue, great price. Whats not to like
Great course. Fairways and greens super shape. Greens are tricky but fair. Lots of slope - takes a few rounds. Very reasonable fees. Traps need lots work. What's not to like
No Hot Dogs
The course was in decent shape except the greens. Most were riddled with ball marks that hadn’t been repaired. No hot dogs on the course but luckily I had some leftover in my bag from my last round. Overall, not a bad course.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Eaglewood Resort & Spa!
