A muni is a muni
In general the course is in average/above average shape and playable for anyone, Greens could be firmer and less marked but hard to blame them for the neglect from all the idiots and new golfers who don’t fix ball marks or for that matter pickup their tee or replace/sand their divot these days. Biggest complaint is no water on the course and no beverage cart. Pace of play was fine at 4:20. Concessions only had hot dogs and brats (if you could call the mushy oversteamed thing they gave me a hot dog). For the price it’s hard to complain as long as they keep it moving on the course.
Nice course good price
Only 4 stars because the greens had a lot of ball marks that were not fixed and lots of spike marks. Not necessarily the courses fault but still was a pain to fix ball marks along your putting lines.
Thursday Twilight in Late July, Perfect for Golfing
In site of recent heavy rains, the course was in good shape. 8 of us had a great after work round of Twlight Golf , finishing on the 18th with a beautiful sunset as a backdrop.
Great course for the money
This course is fantastic for a casual round with friends. On several holes, you can play it safe or go for the more challenging shortcuts. Fairways were in great condition, greens and tees were a little rough, but better than I expected for the money. I’ll definitely be back.
Great Course
This is a well-maintained course. Fairways are fairly wide, which makes it nice off the tee. Bunkers are strategically placed, and greens are well protected. Pace of play was good. It has been a few years since here; will definitely go back. Great price.
Very nice course
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Driving range and practice greens were conveniently located. The only thing that stuck out to me was the fairways were a little dry at times but with the lack of rain we’ve been having in the last few weeks It was nothing out of the ordinary. Nice course. Would recommend to any golfers
Hidden Gem
Very nice course. Walkable, but a little hilly. Nice views.
Good not Great
Highland Woods is my "home course" I live about 10 minutes away and I've played this course 25+ times. If you are not a mid handicap, do yourself a favor and play the course shorter. Greens are usually in good shape but if you catch the course on a colder day they can be tough but then again I am not the best putter. Only issue I truly have with the course the past time I played was the staff inside the clubhouse. Not the most friendly for some reason on the day. Would recommend however and will be back!
Weds Twlight Golf
Highland Woods continues to be a really good value. The greens and fairways were in good shape. One change is that they are really letting the rough grow in, areas that used be mowed are more than a foot tall and ball magnets. The staff is generally friendly, but I heard some of the staff complaining about folks not be done before sunset. One of the best things about Highland twilight is that they have let us play until it is not reasonably light (say 15 minutes after sunset), I hope that doesn't change. Otherwise a fantastic value for a social round of golf.
Would repeat
Good value, great open layout, challenging greens, excellent public course
