simple quiet and good value
nothing special. which is how I describe my abilities as a golfer. cost of 10 dollars is perfect. u can also double back and grab a few more holes because u r absolutely alone. most of the time. not real challenging . which is how I like my golf sometimes. no frills . no noise no waiting. quiet I almost dozed off in cart at 4 th hole.
Good Time, Bad Maitenance
I played this course with my son who is a beginner to the game. We play at a slow pace but the course was vacant behind us and we never caught anyone. The weather was great the day we played and the whole week before, so the course maintenance was just neglected. On hole 5 the tee box was 2 inches tall and not cut in over a week. The greens were slow but seemed to not have been cut in awhile and were littered with tree debris and putting was difficult on some holes. The 9 hole course has great potential but needs some attention for sure. There were no ball washers anywhere, and holes near driving range have balls scattered all over the course. It was a good deal with Golf Now, but at full price, not worth it.
Extremely poor condition fairway grass was so high lost a ball in the middle of fairway
Don't bother playing it might be cheap it's not even good practice greens are super slow and very bumpy nothing good to say about it.
Very disappointed
The staff was not helpful at all. The carts were in bad shape and the course in general was in poor condition. The price did not reflect the course atmosphere or condition. I would not recommend this course at all.
This course is a waste of your time and money
They aerated their greens today and put the cups in the "fairway" in front of the greens. Why they wouldn't put them in the green like a normal course is beyond me. The "fairways" at hickory are like rough anywhere else in the area so putting on them isn't an option. They failed to tell me this in the clubhouse, so upon discovery I turned around to get my money back and play somewhere else. Even though I just paid him 5 minutes prior, the gentlemen insisted I go get my receipt. Finally found that in my abyss of a golf bag and now he wants the little tag that gets ripped off and given to the starter. I went back out and got that from the starter just so I could be told that he actually doesn't know how to do a return.... Just go play somewhere else
Nothing good to say
This course has been severely neglected. Tees are patchy, fairways are weedy, greens are too long, carts are old gas carts with no GPS, cart-path on at least one hole runs right up the center of the fairway, shelters are crumbling, access to course from parking lot is ugly and uninviting. At $50 per player it is way over-priced. the topography and course layout is interesting, but that is overshadowed by the poor condition. I will never go back to this course.
Bad golf
Terrible grounds .will never play there a
gain.owner was rude . tried to tell me they normally charge 150 per round .goose droppings everywhere .steps on the 9th hole are decaying wood and unsafe .there is a concrete shelter on 7 that is falling over so they wrapped caution tape around the bricks and left it. Bar far the worst course I have ever played
Pleased with purchase
Good price for a nice course and the staff was very friendly.
Short course
I played nine holes on the short course due to convenient location and time constraints I was up against.... I was the only person on the course for the duration of my short round, and after playing it became obvious why..... With the exception of maybe 2 holes, each and every green was littered with tree branches.... I was forced to clear a path to the cup every time I wanted to putt.... Obviously no effort made to care for this 9hole course, yet it still cost $25 to play. I suggest finding somewhere else to sneak in a quick 9holes.
Not worth $50
The course looks great from a distance but the rough is just overgrown, weeds and grass in the bunkers and brown collars around most greens. The greens are well kept. Most people avoid the cart paths because they are so bad, my cart felt like it was going to die on every hole. I will never go back.
Could be the worst course in the state of Illinois
Horrible from the staff to greens, nothing was kept up, total dump.
No Food, No Fairways
They don't have any food at the course so bring a sandwhich or plan not to eat at all. As far as the course itself, there are no real fairways (no bent grass) and the greens were still aerated in late May. The rough was pretty long so keep an eye on your drive if its headed off track. We lost a ball or two not far off the fairway.
Two words, NOT COOL
So tell me why they charge $40 on golfnow but charge the exact same price at the course. Horrible golf course for the price. It should be $20 w/ a cart, i'm not even sure how in the world this course survives charging these ridiculous prices. Hardly anyone plays here anyway. idk, smh.
Worst greens I have played all year
It was like putting on shag back from the 70's, not sure when they last cut the greens or replaced the hole locations. Distances with my GPS were more than 20- 30 yds off for each hole. Joined up by a player and his laser finder was showing the same. You cannot rely on the yardage stakes next to the fairways either. Course was not what I expected. It had been a while since I had played here since they were not on golfnow, they just joined up, I hope they get more play so they can get some dollars into the maintenance of the course. May return next year to see if things have improved. Great course to work on your iron play.
Hickory Hills CC Golf Course not maintained properly
The greens are cut to fairway length. The fairway and rough are indistinguishable, so it was difficult to find your ball in the fairway. The tee boxes are 30 yards wide on some holes. This golf course is the most poorly maintained golf course I have ever seen in my life.
