Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
HeatherRidge Golf Course is a nine-hole course with all the challenges of a full-length course. It's an ideal round for when you don't have time to play 18 holes. Water has a prominent presence throughout thanks to a creek that winds through the entire course with tributaries that snake in and out of the holes and there are also ponds that come into play. You'll find water on a total of seven holes. There are a few other tricky spots to watch out for as well, including subtle breaks in the greens. Hitting straight is the key to scoring well and both accuracy and creative shot-making skills are needed. HeatherRidge G.C. has appeal for players of all skill levels and the affordable rates make it doubly appealing.

Pleasent experience
Great day staff very friendly course clean excellent upkeep pace was great and friendly!
Heather Ridge Golf Course
The Good: Heather Ridge is a nice little 9-hole course that is set among a large residential and condo development near Six Flags Great America. Par 35 layout has good combination of fair (opening hole is a sub-300-yard straight away Par 4) and challenging (several doglegs around ponds) holes that serves as a good tune up or leisure round. The lone Par 5 was a very strong hole with a series of traps left and water right on tee shot. Another pond left must be navigated if going for two. Good course conditions considering it is mid-march. Clubhouse is pedestrian at best but does not a banquet area and some decent apparel / equipment. I was one of only two players on the course at Noon, so pace of play was excellent!
The Bad: Greens were very shaggy, but this is expected given the early spring shoulder season. Staff was nice but didn't provide much value other than taking my Groupgolfer.com voucher. No driving range and very small putting green. The Par 3's are fairly forgettable compared to the other holes on the course. Cost to walk 9 holes ($18) was a little higher than expected considering the quality of course and time of season.
The Verdict: Heather Ridge is a fun little course if you have 2 hours to spare or combine with a round at the superior Bittersweet nearby. Enough quirk and challenge for the avid golfer, yet easy enough with limited green undulation for novice / junior golfers to enjoy.
Best Hole: The long Par 4 2nd is a really solid hole. A tough drive must avoid water right and approach to one of the more undulating greens on the course.
Nice course
We have not played this course in a few years and concluded that it is a good course to play for our ability. We will add this course into our weekly selection. The only downside is that there are several single players and you feel obligated to let them play through, which delays your own game.
Great day on a wonderful course
Played Heather Ridge and found it to be in excellent shape. Nice pace of play. The greens were a little bumpy but it is late in the season so no harm no foul. Terrific value and a welcoming staff made for a wonderful experience.
Glad I finally made it to this course!
Very enjoyable round. Paired up with a very nice twosome. Love the water holes. Lots of local seniors and resident golfers.
Very nice 9 hole course.
I had a few hours on a Sunday while waiting for my kids at Six Flags. I was able to play 9 in about 2 hours without having to wait on any players ahead of me. I found the course in very good shape. The overall length of the course is short but the holes are challenging with tree lined dog legs, creeks and pond water hazards. Had a quick lunch at the outdoor bar where staff were friendly. Nice way to spend 2 1/2 hours.
A Reasonable Challenge
A great morning only compromised by some other players lacking etiquette knowledge. If you are straight hitter all the time then this course is easy. So for us it was more difficult, but the conditions, (rough length etc) were such that recovery was possible with good play which made for some fun times. (greens excellent) Some holes narrow with trouble on either side which were can hurt scores but some other holes were short to recover the gross score with.
Great Course
Excellent condition considering it's been hit & humid. Very challenging short course but enjoyed every hole.
Nice place to play a quick nine holes
Good layout. Challenging to play. Fun place to get in nine
Heather ridge
Course was in excellent shape not very long great course to get nine holes in after work
Nice 9 hole track
Nice little course for low green fee. Very well maintained. To bad not 18. First off at 6 am in an hour and half. Father's Day crowd didn't allow another 9. I definetly recommend for quick 9.
Unerrated
Golf course conditions were excellent. Great greens considering the conditions of 5 star neighboring courses that are in bad condition due to the bad winter.
Pace of play was not good - rangers need to be more active to keep the pace of play moving. They were present on the course but not active.
The course is very good for beginners - yet challenging enough for good players. I had my daughter out with me and she is an infrequent player who had a very good time on the course.
Besides more activity from the marshalls, you may want to consider flattening out the practice putting green in the front so that flatter putts can be practiced. This way, you can be better prepared to have a read on the speeds of the greens on the course.
This is a very good 9 hole facility - very underrated and a great value.
Great course for beginners
My wife and I went to Heather Ridge this weekend to kick-off our foray into golf.
The staff was extremely helpful. The course was in very good condition. We found it to be a very challenging course.
It was actually the perfect length for us. The only issue we had was a bottle-neck caused by a group of women who decided to take an extended break on the 8th hole. This caused every group behind them to bunch up. We actually had a really good pace going until we caught up to some strollers that got passed by the group in front of us. Not a big deal and if weather was warmer we wouldnt have cared.
Thanks for the great round of gold and we will definitely be back!
Great Course to get in & out quickly
Love this course when you are short on time. A full course with 9 holes.
Heatherridge
nice lil golf challenge for all levels...keep it straight or else...lol
Great Condition and Great pricing
Well kept 9-hole course that offers great pricing. $19 during twilight for the 9-hole. Relatively easy course with a short par 5 and a really short par 3.
