Good Track, reasonably l-maintained, Friendly Staff
Greens in excellent condition, several fairways need urgent repairs -- especially, #2, #4, 5. Almost every tee box is in bad shape. The cart path overall in dangerously bad condition. Too many potholes, deep enough to jar your vertebral column. Must repair the paths immediately.
New course management horrible forcing all golf now customers to play in foursomes even if there tee time is not filled no twosomes allowed
Happy Easter
One of my favorite layouts, front nine is narrow some easy hikes with a couple tough ones sprinkled in. Good pace of play today, guess not too many people play on Easter lol. Course condition was good for early in the season. Bunkers not maintained yet though. No yardage markers out yet. Pro shop very empty of supplies and bar not open. Hot dogs not the same as previous years when HC was rated best dogs in the area. Seems like new management is very slow to get things going. They raised the rates so hopefully it starts to show soon.
Today’s round
Course was in brutal shape. For some reason no food or beer. Bar was not open.
Great times on a great course
Hughes creek is a fun 18 hole course nestled into the far west suburbs of Chicago. Lined with beautiful homes and farm fields, Hughes offers a fun yet challenging experience throughout its 18 holes. Each hole is designed to challenge mid to high handicappers with tough yardages and pin placements but still offer the abilities for beginners and experienced golfers to have fun. Wonderfully maintained greens and fairways offer a pleasant experience for all golfers young and old. Bring a friend or link up with new people. Hughes is a great way to enjoy golf in its best form.
Pros:
1. Great layout to challenge all levels
2. Greens are elevated and well maintained.
3. Great restaurant and bar
4. Friendly staff
Cons:
1. Pace of play is usually pretty slow, I’d say my average round time is 4.5 hours or more
2. Inexperienced golfers usually leave divots in greens
3. No driving range but a nice chipping and putting green
4. Very limited balls and tees etc in clubhouse for purchase
Well worth the money and always so much fun! I play it regularly!
This course is a nice course but the manager was a name I apparently can’t say on here. Kept saying we weren’t playing fast enough but we had to wait on a group in front of us at one point. He made us skip a hole after we let a group play through. I get the etiquette of playing golf and I have never had a manager be so rude. So of course this upsets a guy and then you start playing bad. The manager ended up buying us a drink at the turn but honestly he didn’t have to be so impatient with us. Just my opinion. I won’t return to this course which should make him happy anyway.
Decent
Decent course. Staff was not very friendly. The layout was ok.
Nice spring course
Course was in very good shape for this early in the season. The layout is too tight where I believe holes 5 and 7 meet, but outside of that it was a very enjoyable round. Will come back if the price is right.
Hughes Creek on 11/05/2020
My group was able to tee off a few minutes ahead of our scheduled time. The weather was extremely nice for early November and the course was in very good condition. Autumn leaves had been largely cleared from the course and the greens were rolling well. The pace of play was such that my group of 3 was able to finish in 3 and 3/4 hours. All in all, it was a wonderful day of golf.
Scott
Course was in great shape and glad the Ranger made the 4sum in front of us move it along. It was a 5 1/2 round
Hughes Cteek
Course was in very good condition. Greens were also in good shape, noticed fewer ball marks on the greens. Possibly golfers are repairing them better. Very windy day and pace on back nine was very slow. Front nine was under two hours. Nice course with elevation changes and friendly staff.
Fun day in the rain
It was a very light drizzle when we started but temp dropped and wind picked up. We only did 9 holes but will try again when weather is better.
