Far Oaks Golf Club
About
Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville has a unique layout with a front nine that is designed in a Scottish-links style and a back nine that plays through rolling woodlands. The links holes are framed with native prairie grasses and wildflowers while mature oak trees line the fairways on the back nine. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course, making it hard to find a flat lie. Mounding and strategically placed bunkers lurk treacherously along the greensides and there are also several holes with water. Far Oaks Golf Club is a challenging course that demands accuracy, which is most apparent on the 10th hole. Although it's not the longest par 4 on the course, it is still challenging thanks to a slew of bunkers that border both sides of the green.

Far Oaks is beautiful this time of year
Corse is coming along. Great shape for as cool as it has been. They did sand the greens the day we played.
One Of The Best Courses In The St. Louis Area
Far Oaks has always been one of my favorites. A fair, fun layout with every hole being different. Looks like they will be doing some work on the bunkers. Looks like sand piled up in the parking lot. They have cleared a lot of trees in the area of the 8th tee, 10th green and 11th tee. Looks totally different.
I thought the tees, fairways and greens looked great for early April. With warm weather coming up, the course will look beautiful. The greens were aerated several weeks ago and the greens were pretty smooth already.
The bunkers on hole 2 need some work and have been like this for sometime. Lot of erosion off the 11th hole cart paths and in front of hole 15 near the cart path.
Overall, get out and play Far Oaks. One of the best.
Decent Conditions For Early April
The greens were aerated in mid-March and were a bit bumpy. Overall the course was a great shape for early April.
Far Oaks is a good value for the money
Looks like the greens were just aerated.
Overall the course is in good shape considering it’s still winter time!
Far oaks in February
The grounds keepers have been busy this winter ….. must have cut down 100 trees which will allow much needed airflow from holes 11-15 , should help out in the fairways and greens ! The course and greens were all in very good condition for February.
Negatives which seems to be a Walters management issue at all of their courses are the sand trap conditions, most are unplayable
Last issue which seems to plague golf everywhere these days is “pace of play” why are rounds taking +4.5 hours to complete when it’s not cart path only!
Nice Course Really Overpriced
We really enjoyed the course but it was awfully expensive we thought. Yes again a nice course but this part of the country not use to paying $62.00 for 18. The Bar is also really expensive.
Thanks
Nice features
Overall love the course as one of my favorites in the area.
Ok if you get a good rate
It’s a nice layout but poorly maintained. At least half the bunkers are in total disrepair. Pace of play was mercilessly slow….5 hours for 18 holes.
Winter Golf = Hibernation
Condition is poor not just for winter. No tee box markers were out. Looks like bunkers haven’t been raked since November. I understand that in the winter you may not have the most ideal conditions and course maintenance, but please put out tee box markers and prep the course, especially when tee times are booked and it’s 65 degrees. No water on course as well. maybe they don’t hire enough staff during the winter months because it’s usually too cold. But anyone can fill a water cooler, place teebox markers.
Top 5 Course in all Metro Stl
Great Course a little to strict on Cart Path Onky.... 90% of Course was Dry caused Pace of play to slow
Bunkers are still under repair but the course is gorgeous and is really enjoyable to play. I also shot the best round i have in the last 2 years. #17 and a par 4 a couple holes before are totally drivable as well. Just gotta hit blindly over the trees
Play at Far Oaks
Thought I payed on GolfNow, but was told I did not.
Golf course was in good condition. Looks like they cleared some trees out from last year. Staff, as always was great. Cart girl was outstanding.
