Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2022 #16)
Reviews
Great value
This course isn't especially aesthetically pleasing but its one of my favorite places to play in the area. It has a great design that has a fun blend of both hard and gettable holes. The greens have improved a lot in recent years and could be quite nice eventually. They have a small grounds crew but they do good work. I'd say 18 holes are appropriately priced at $32 as of this review. My one complaint is their price for 9 holes was high. $25 the last time I was there. All in all I'd recommend. Just not too loudly because I like that its a bit of a hidden gem.
Great muni
The course is in pretty good shape. Very playable. Some of the tee boxes are a little scruffy. Most of the fairways and greens are in good condition. The price is very good and the employees are super nice and helpful. Fairly easy course. Worth the drive.
Great price - get what you pay for
The course setup is really pretty good and there are a lot of different challenges. The course conditions start to suffer once the summer heat hits, but it’s fun to play and there wasn’t anyone in front of us so it was a quick round.
Course conditions
Lots of standing water; fill in the holes! Greens on some holes were pretty ate up. Lots of weeds and rough grass. Maybe try once more this year in the fall.
Huge Bang for the Buck
This has become one of my favorite courses in St. Louis. Incredibly affordable to play, tucked away in the back corner of a park in Cahokia in a place you wouldn't expect a nice course to live. Great drink specials and good food options for the turn, nice carts, course is always in good shape, and rarely ever have to wait on a group in front of you. Highly recommend, except please don't go because I like that it's never overwhelmingly busy. ;)
Great Course and Greens!
windy so be prepared to either navigate the lakes leveraging the wind currents or find water on many holes! Great views and friendly staff!
Bring plenty of balls
They seem to be working on improving the condition of the course. It’s gotten progressively better over the years. I spoke to the greens keeper and he said they are now working on irrigation of the fairways in addition to tees and greens. There are some drainage issues to resolve too. It’s a good value now but once all that is done it should be great. We lost a ton of balls but that’s not their fault. There are lots of trees and water hazards and we found almost all of them.
