Rock Springs Golf Course in Alton, Illinois, was the first course I ever played (over 30 years ago), and the tee on that 1st hole was really intimidating; probably one of the most impressive 1st tees on the planet! Other than that, the course is a beauty; breaking greens, smooth fairways, tight roughs, and lots of trees. A few creeks criss-cross the course, and tolling hills abound. Be care of the dog legs or you'll lose your golf balls! And have I mentioned the trees? Yes, there are lots and lots of trees! It's really a magical course to play!
