Illinois' Bloomington/Normal Metro is a great golf destination. There are lots of fine golf courses there. The Den just isn't one of them. Scruffy fairways, unfriendly clubhouse, mislabeled yardages, absence of sensible aiming points and greens that don't drain very well are just a few of the things that make the place a prison sentence to play.
I love BCC (Bloomington Country Club), the University Course, and a couple of the other courses in B/N but I wouldn't walk across the street to play this mess again. They ruined a perfectly good wetlands. One good hole (No. 5) and 17 either silly or room-temperature ones. Suprising that you would worship at this alter. The emperor has no clothes.

I defy anyone to find a better experience for $39. I've golfed in six Midwest states plus Las Vegas and Stone Creek is first on my list.
