The author of the course review missed the point of the 12th and 14th holes in the design and would question if he played the course. The 12th is a very difficult driving hole because you have to play a draw off the tee to position yourself for your second shot. The 14th plays short but rewards position. One should always play the 18th from the black tees, making it one of hardest holes in the area.

Illinois' Bloomington/Normal Metro is a great golf destination. There are lots of fine golf courses there. The Den just isn't one of them. Scruffy fairways, unfriendly clubhouse, mislabeled yardages, absence of sensible aiming points and greens that don't drain very well are just a few of the things that make the place a prison sentence to play, says one disgruntled reader.

A handful of Chicago area courses hold themselves in such high regard that they've forgotten that there's more to that price tag than golf. Ruffled Feathers Golf Club and Seven Bridges Golf Club have completely lost customer focus with their snobbish attitude and take-it-or-leave-it form of customer service, writes one disgruntled reader.
