
ST. CHARLES, Ill. Pheasant Run Resort & Spa, one of the Midwest's largest resort and conference centers, announces its 2002 golf schedule programmed to include 10 tournaments in a variety of formats, encouraging golfers to swing into the new season.
Tournament fees run from $40 to $165 per person or team and include greens fees, awards and snacks. Carts are available at an extra charge of $14.50. The events are open to amateur participants only. The purse will be announced when each entry period is closed.

SAT, MARCH 16: IRISH OPEN
The Irish Open is a two-person team, scramble format. The first tee time available is at 10 a.m. and the entry period is from March 1 through March 13, 2002. The entry fee is $90 per team.
SAT, APRIL 20: "NO CHEAT" SCRAMBLE
The "No Cheat" Scramble is a three-person team, scramble format. Play takes place in six-somes. The scoring is done by the gross scores only. First tee time available is a 9 a.m. for a shotgun start. The entry period is from March 16 through April 17, 2002. The entry fee is $165 per team.
SUN, MAY 19: MAY MADNESS
The May Madness is a two-person, one low gross and one low net score per hole, not using the same ball for both scores. The first tee time is available at 12 p.m. The entry period is from April 20 through May 15, 2002. The entry fee is $90 per team.
SAT, JUNE 22: SUMMER SKIRMISH
The Summer Skirmish is an 18-hole, individual stroke play event, gross and net handicap flighted divisions. The first tee time is available at 12 p.m. Then entry period is from May 19 through June 19, 2002. Entry fee is $60 per person.
SAT, JULY 6: STAR-SPANGLED CLASSIC
The Star-Spangled Classic is an 18-hole individual stroke play event, gross and net handicap flighted divisions. The first tee time is available at 12 p.m. The entry period is from June 22 through July 2, 2002. Entry fee is $60 per person.
SAT, AUG. 17: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
The Club Championship is an 18-hole individual stroke play event, gross and net handicap flighted divisions. The first tee time available is 12 p.m. The entry period is from July 6 through Aug. 14, 2002. The entry fee is $60 per person.
SUN, SEP. 22: PHEASANT CUP
The Pheasant Cup is a two-person team, alternate shot format as played in the Ryder Cup. The first tee time available is at 12 p.m. The entry period is between Aug. 17 and Sep. 18, 2002. Entry fee is $90 per team.
SAT, OCT. 12: PUMPKIN CLASSIC
The Pumpkin Classic is a two-person team, on low gross and one low net score per hole format, where you cannot use the same ball for both scores. The first tee time available is at 10 a.m. Entry period is between Sep. 22 and Oct. 9, 2002. Entry fee is $90 per team.
SAT, NOV. 16: FROZEN FINGERS SCRAMBLE
The Frozen Fingers Scramble is a two-person team, scramble format, using gross and net handicap divisions. The first tee time available is at 10 a.m. The entry period is between Oct. 12 and Nov. 13, 2002. Entry fee is $90 per team.
SAT, DEC. 7: SANTA CLASSIC
The Santa Classic is a one-person, scramble format. Each player plays two balls and selects best for next shot. The first tee time available is at 10 a.m. The entry period is between Nov. 16 and Dec. 5, 2002. Entry fee is $40 per person.

Timber Trails in LaGrange has 105-acres with nearly 1,000 trees on them. Many of the trees are old-growth oaks that have been standing for 300 years. The Illinois Audubon Society has designated the golf course an Audubon Sanctuary and has documented over 130 species of bird on the property. Fox, deer, coyote, and other animals are regularly seen on the golf course. But new developers are planning on removing the golf course.
