- I am always pleased when i golf at Shoal Creek. I am a junior and it allows me to shoot upper 40's to low 50's. The nicest people work in the shop. They always have the course in great condition. It is one of the best courses in a town of about 1000 people in all of Illinois!The golf course at Raymond is great for beginners. It is very open, easy to spot your ball, somewhat. I love going to this golf course to play, it is cheap, and just a great fun time. Employers there are awesome and friendly, never rude. Except for that old man there, haha.
If you've never played Shoal Creek you will be pleasantly pleased.
While it is fairly short, the final hole will challange even the longest of ball strikers.
Par on their 550 plus yard par 5 is a great score and many, many golfers will be happy with a bogey.
